    What is with exchange fees...

True, and not all monopolies are illegal. Certainly not a cut and dry discussion. In many cases, these exchange fees have been in place for quite a while, but brokers were hiding those fees as long as you maintained a certain amount of trading activity. I have certainly witnessed a steady...

    What is with exchange fees...

Liquidity attracts liquidity. This is the ICE's (and others) natural monopoly.

Are corporate charitable contributions public information?

I suppose this information is a bit old, but as of 1999 the answer would be no, according to this: http://www.jstor.org/stable/40687874?seq=1#page_scan_tab_contents

    End-of-day historical data

Stocks back to 1980's potentially, data should match exchange, splits/stock dividends tracked. DataLink ultimately comes from Reuters data which should be reliable and follow exchange guidelines. If an issue does come up, corrections will be made. This should be an exception and not the rule.

Millionaires control 41% of the worlds wealth, is anyone moved by this story anymore?

I guess I was never moved, because it only seems like a logical conclusion to how our system is set up. US markets are the most widely used markets in the world. Globalization shifted us massively to an investor-based economy. Lobbyism for rules and lack thereof becomes a part of the system...

    Globex or pit close charts.

Sorry didn't see this reply right away, but if you are using MetaStock charts with XENITH data, you right-click on the background of the chart and choose "Change Field". You will see things like, Bid, Ask, Trade Price (which I believe is reporting the Settle) and Last. In an actual XENITH /...

    Globex or pit close charts.

Not sure what you mean by the "correct" globex close since most data providers are set up to report the "settle" per the exchange standards. Calling the data "incorrect" is misleading and inaccurate. Additionally, speaking for XENITH (Realtime data) you can certainly change the data field to...

Ecc ram and Xeon vs i7?

ECC is for server stability and reliably so in theory it could help prevent some memory fault crash. It would be extremely unlikely that you would ever put the PC under that much stress, unless perhaps you're looking at setting up some massive automated trading operation where you might be...

What Does It Mean To Bet Against The Herd ???

IMO contrarians tend to be value investors and while some may operate on shorting overvalued stocks, I would think it more common for a contrarian to go long on under-valued stocks. This doesn't seem like a style of investing that would align with a day trader at all. Day traders don't care...
