There is no hoping involved, they do...again and again. All I do is wait for synergy across my metrics to form and BAM, a trade is placed. Gotta be able to wait though, this is not a game for the impatient :)

A "Trade"", by definition, is defined as the transfer of ownership of a GOOD OR SERVICE from one person to another who wants them. Stocks, ETFS, futures...these are all included. Who cares how LONG one owns them, that's not relevant. So a "TRADER" is one who facilitates trade. Thus trading...

Your opinion is your own and not a definitive fact. I trade for a living and I DO treat it as a very serious business. If you didn't treat your trading as such, then maybe that explains why you cant see trading as a business.
