IB losing the edge in commissions!

If you trade high volume there are brokers by far cheaper than IB. The good thing about IB is that you don't need to trade high volume to get good commissions. I personally find the eminis better than equities in any and every way, but that's not the subject of this thread Cheers 50

IB losing the edge in commissions!

And it says right there in your link - minimum $3 charge on equities. Now suppose I buy 300 shares and wish to sell them incrementally (take partial profits), 100 shares at a time, at different price levels. With MBT that will cost me $12. With IB it will cost me half that ($6). As for...

IB losing the edge in commissions!

newestmember, exactly! IB are a good broker overall but they should smash the competition from the other piker brokers and lower commissions a bit to keep their edge and the loyality of their traders! Hell, if TradeStation could do it.. IB definitely should!

IB losing the edge in commissions!

ChrisRT, imho IB's TWS is a great platform, probably one of the best around. MBTrading only accept clients from 3 or 4 countries (ask them if you don't believe me). They offer a very limited product line (instruments to trade) and their commissions are very high and include high minimum...

IB losing the edge in commissions!

H2O, Agree with everything you wrote. IB TWS is a great platform, plus you trade futures on an SIPC insured account which is a strong advantage. I also tried J-Trader and I am very puzzled about it. Unless I'm missing out on something, that software doesn't seem too stable and...

IB losing the edge in commissions!

imho IB should strive to keep their MAIN competitive edge, for which traders flock to them, and that edge is: BY FAR THE LOWEST COMMISSIONS. That we pay almost the same rates as a TradeStation user these days is intolerable. Advanced Futures offering same rates as IB for eminis? That is an...

IB losing the edge in commissions!

With Avanced Futures now offering $4.8 round turn on eminis and TradeStation slashing commissions, IB is slowly losing its competitive edge... IB wake up and show them some real competition!

    Pit Traded "realtime" charts?

Is it true to assume that if I trade Globex's NQ and ES, it is useless to watch the pit contracts (ND, SP), because they provide no predictive value (they don't move before the NQ and ES)? Thanks 50

The most annoying thing in eSignal

Thanks a lot, Jay. I contacted eSignal about this a few times in the past and got ignored.. that's why I seeked you... once again I must say that I am a very pleased costumer overall. Thanks again 50

The most annoying thing in eSignal

eSignal is one excellent software but there's one bug that they're simply unwilling to fix for some reason. This happens you enable showing the crosshair X and Y axis labels (in the Cursor window Properties, you check the "Show cursor labels on X and Y axis" box). Once enabled, you can see...

    trading from a foreign country

some brokers will not open accounts for non-US residents, or only have a few selected countries which they are willing to work with. One example is MB Trading. They'll only work with US, Canada and a couple of other countries. Don't believe me? Ask them. Just ask your broker if he...

    Trin

trin has chart patterns. you can identify triangles, trendlines, pullbacks etc., they are reliable most of the time. if trin doesn't confirm price then that's a powerful signal, because it means that volume doesn't confirm price.

    SSF Volume?

SSF are a bad joke and many people wonder if they won't be a thing of the past real soon. They probably will. They should. The future lies with Globex imho.

eSignal didn't adjust the clock? anybody having the same problem?

I just found the solution to this, what I did just now was to check the "Automatically adjust clock for daylight saving changes" box on the Windows Date and Time Properties. That did not change the actual time on my computer, since it was already adjusted to the current NY time, but oddly enough...

eSignal didn't adjust the clock? anybody having the same problem?

My computer clock and my eSignal clock are in synch as GMT-5 and they show NY time. All stocks (try GE for example) on any day before today now start trading at 8:30 and end at 15:00. If you use the 24hours time template you will see that trading starts at 8:30 and ends at 15:00 on any...

eSignal - What does Volume indicator on TRIN, TICK, VIX mean?

When displaying a chart of the TRIN, TICK or VIX in eSignal, it seems that they have a volume of their own. Does anybody know what does the volume mean on these internal market indicators? Thanks 50

    Esignal with multi monitors

damn.. I use 2 monitors with 1600x1200 resolution. I could use another one I guess, but so far for a piker like me, it is not justified.

    Esignal with multi monitors

No, you just double click the eSignal icon twice, and it is launched twice. Popping out the windows is a much better alternative. I used to use 2 instances of eSignal when I had only one monitor. I wanted to watch 2 layouts at once, but had only one monitor, and switching layouts was...

    Bigcharts.com inaccurate?

Here's DSPG from on may 2000. Prices are definitely between $35-$30. However, on Barchart.com, Stockcharts.com, and eSingal, prices never fall below $35. Any ideas? Any MarketWatch rep. here? Quite a few swingtraders look at Bigcharts..
