did you guys pass your Series 7 exams? im pretty sure they had a whole page or two on NX's.
you can only NX 1000 shares max in the same stock on the same side every 30 seconds.
example.) you buy NX 1000 shares of WMT at 9:30:00, and then you sell NX 500 shares of WMT at 9:30:01. you...
you can only NX 1000 shares each way every 30 seconds. sometimes your NX is wasted or your position is larger than 1000 shares.
other times there is nothing to NX and ECN's are trading waaaay away from the market.
if you are going to put up $25K, i think ANYWHERE should be able to at least give you 0.5 cent rates and 10:1 intraday leverage. you may or may not have to pay software/desk fees depending on your volume.
as previously stated, your order got matched up by the specialist for the MOC print and thus it couldnt be cancelled. if the MOC print was away from your limit order, it should have cancelled.
I know that some people have an all inclusive rate and others pay ECN fees and get rebated back a month later for adding liquidity.
Is it better to have a flat commission rate or to pay ECN fees and get ECN rebates back? Or does it come out even?
I figure a flat rate is better because your...
How many times per month do your systems crash at your prop firms (non-remote)? At my firm, the systems crash at least once per week. I want to know if other people experience the same problems because it costs me significant money when the systems go down.
My firm sometimes blames the data...
AirTran (AAI) is the WORST airline in the USA. if you have ever flown them, you will know what i am talking about. i flew them about 8 times (RT) back in college because i was a poor student but now that i am working, never again will i endure AirTran aka ValueJet.
some good things:
+ they have decent financial liquidity. they aren't going to pull a worldco overnight.
+ they offer good leverage if you need it.
+ they cut checks twice per week. some other firms only do it once per month.
+ they do offer a group health insurance plan. it is not cheap...
as mentioned previously, unless some catastrophic event happens, which causes all the SHO stocks to get creamed. most likely the uptick rule will be removed from most, if not all, NYSE stocks.
1.) As long as you have the money, anywhere in Manhattan is fine. Be prepared to pay at least $1500 for a non-shared (non-furnished) studio in a decent building and location. If you want a modern building with a doorman/elevator, it'll be closer to $2000. The best bang for your buck is probably...
unless you are trading razor thin stocks, there shouldnt be much slippage 100-500 shares. in thin stocks, 500-1000 shares can drive a stock down 10-15 cents. slippage is always there. just make sure you aren't the last to get out.
speed is the most important element to scalping. you can still make money if your scalping skills make up for the handicap.
i have a 1-2 second delay on my time and sales tape (due to crappy trading systems) and my NX's miss like 75% of the time so i miss most of my outs and get squeezed if i...
if you are doing research and extensively using statistics, you probably are not scalping and jumping in and out of trades like a madman. i have conferred with other guys on my desk who have said the same thing about their short term memory turning to poo.
i actually did see a doctor and took...
