Can someone double check this 'fact' from Jim Rogers

You are right, but most of them don't own the factories directly, they buy from factories owned by Hong Kong Chinese, Taiwan Chinese or the local (Mainland Chinese). The siutation is changing in the last few years.

Can someone double check this 'fact' from Jim Rogers

Hong Kong was the biggest investor in the 1980s. During that time, Hong Kong lost it's manufacturing to China, most companies in the manufacturing industries closed their factories in Hong Kong and moved to China. Same thing happened to Taiwan, but I do not know to what extent. Those...

Pentium D and Core 2 Duo--which is better for trading pc?

It really depends on your software, my charting software doesn't support Duo CPU. Resently changed from a P4 D 2.66G to a P4 EE 3.2G, on the 3.2G it's much faster. Multi Tasking (Charting, IE, Task Manager) hurt the P4 EE more than the P4 D.

    10000rpm hard drive?

I got it down to 10 or 11 sec, after trimming craps out of the system and a small overclock on a P4EE 641 3.2Gz, overclock to 3.84Gz, massive heatsink, 2G 667 ram with heat spreader. Even the set the charts with less data today, felt like a 100% improvement, LOL A question comes to mind...

    Shanghi Shanghi

Yeah, we are all just guessing. If I am not mistaken, when a SOE goes public they would have to submit to the one of the Commerice department within the Central Governement, and in many case local governments would reduce ownership during the IPO; but reduction in ownership after the SOE is...

    Shanghi Shanghi

Blast, many of them are under local governments instead of the central government. So you need to look at local governements' ability to hold the prices during the next break. Beijing, Shanghi, Guangdong, maybe they can, rest of the country, I am not so sure. There are also stocks held by the...

This is a tough call, you might be correct in someway. But remember most other developing countries can't make shit, evening compare to china :D China is not Iran, Blast, we don't capture soldiers to rise the oil price. It's a place for business, if you want cheap goods at a certain...

China Calls U.S. Paper Duties `Unacceptable,' May Respond

Blast, am I suppose to felt insulted now? My point is you can't replace China industry overnight, you like it or not, the US will still be buying craps from China in a few years, because that is what the US consumer can afford. :) In the real world, people don't care about labour...

China Calls U.S. Paper Duties `Unacceptable,' May Respond

Just an example about demand for cheaper items, mate. Korea or Japs, not differences, if you can afford it you would buy a better car (think retail market, let's don't augre this.) Blast, great companies take times to build, same for the logistic side of a country (again, materials, and...
