Oil and the euro saying the SPX should be sold but put - call ratios still pretty bullish. No one will sell yet. Doesn't have to happen today but when they decide to it should be ugly.

For anyone watching month end markups - today is the last day to buy to show on your books for T+3 prior to friday. Maybe helping out a bit on the bid side. It matters a lot more at end of quarters but given the run this month it could be an issue.

Why so many IB stocks unshortable today?

I think lack of supply for borrowing to short is getting limited everywhere, not just at IB. My guess is (non conspiracy theorist) is that the loaners (owners) of the stocks are actually selling or getting ready to sell their shares, and therefore the shares must be returned to the borrowers so...

Anyone watching this USD euro move off the top? Hasn't affected equities yet but I find it interesting given stocks strength and the bond auctions announced today (for next week).

Most likely because there is feverish upside call buying on this move. Check this out every half hour - http://www.cboe.com/Data/IntraDayVol.aspx While the VIX is usually used as a "fear guage" it is influenced by the price of calls and puts - this happened one day last week as well. Very...

    Weinstein Trading and Fading

Until you are in a position to do that size trading yourself, I would refrain from making judgment and/or proclaiming what you would or would not do. I don't know of anyone that has been wildly successful in trading that hasn't gone through some serious rough patches along the way. It's the...

I think because INTC was halted right before the futures closed. Obviously the idea of why it was halted was incorrect.

Live posting is fine - however you never post an out against a catastrophic event in the event that the trade goes against you. And you have posted several that have gone against you (albeit certainly not today :) ) over the past couple of weeks which lends to the questions about your posting.

Yes I think a lot of this (this morning's buying as well) is based on markups for quarter end - and Nazzy has definitely been strong this qtr so not hard to imagine real support there. Though I would think the qtr end markup would have to be finished by friday.
