    crack spread in IB

I just tried the generic combo feature and it won't let me do two different underlyings, it only does calendar spreads for the same symbol. I'll send an email to IB and see what they say.

Anyone trade the crack spread in IB? I don't think SpreadTrader supports inter-commodity spreads; it only allows me to enter calendar spreads on the same underlying.

Greenspan says banks need much more capital

Thanks for posting this. I need to learn how to read this. I have taken accounting in college, and can read the standard corporate balance sheets (asset / liability), but I don't understand the FED's balance sheet. Is there a link to a website that can teach me how to read this...

Harry Markopolos's letter to SEC regarding Madoff

Yeah, I also like the part where he breaks down split strike conversion strategy on pg 5 and explains how it would be impossible to earn 16% returns on it, especially for a fund the size of Madoff's. hehe

    end of FOREX?

If we ended up with 3 main currencies: Americas ($), EMEA (EUR), East Asia (Yen) and all others are pegged to these 3, and these 3 fixed to each other, then FX trading would cease to exist. But I don't see this happening anytime soon. The current crises has given globalization a black eye...

    I found Madoffs money

One thing I don't understand is how he was able to get around IRS? Don't brokers report net capital gains/losses of their clients to IRS as well?
