Help with Automatic Fast User Switch in Windows XP Pro

I use XP Home, but I'll assume the fix is similar... If you go to the Display function in the Control Panel, then to the Screen Saver tab...there's a box in there that says 'On resume, display Welcome screen' It sounds like you have that box checked, so that when the machine sleeps it goes...

    Baby steps

If you fiind that you can have the same kind of detachment when there's real $$ on the line as you did in papertrading, that's probably a good sign. If you find that you turn into an incompetent, however, don't beat yourself up. Put emphasis not on the fact that you're stumbling, but on how...

    Hypnosis Anyone?

Ha good point; I will look forward to hearing more about your experiences. Interesting subject for sure.

    Something very simplistic

Re: something very simple - for stocks? I've been thinking about this too. The introduction of the SSFs should take care of the uptick problem. We'll see what kind of liquidity we get.

VIX Consistently above 40 during September

Thanks vitajex. I find it amazing that we haven't seen a close above 50 since that period in '87, including 9/21/2001. Looking at those numbers and looking back over the past year, I'm beginning to think these curbs do more harm than good by telling us how and when to trade... Seems that...

VIX Consistently above 40 during September

I'm curious does anyone know what the VIX would have been during that 1987 meltdown...I know they didn't publish it until after then, but maybe someone out there has back-calculated it... Personally, I agree that there's not nearly enough fear in there yet for us to bottom...VIX in the 60's I...

How do you take those losses

Two things come to my mind...you could place your bid 10-15 cents lower than the obvious support level, try to take advantage of the guys who bought it above 56 and are having second thoughts. Give yourself a little cushion and some extra upside if the support holds. Or if you feel your 56...

    Feelings

I think we can all relate to that...I think you would benefit from some therapy, or any other way to flush the negativity out. Putting it out in front of you (like posting it here) seems to be the best way to brighter days!

    This Might Be Stupid???

Well I for one would like to see it...hey if nothing else we can learn something new maybe. I'm not looking to bash anyone's systems, just to learn from them...

    Question from a Newbie?

I can tell you that at Worldco you will probably have to pay for the licensing yourself...that takes care of that. I like Active Trader magazine a lot; not sure if it is really aimed at the beginner, but hey it's a good way to learn your way out of being a beginner...

    Something very simplistic

Sorry if this is a brief diversion, but my software (GlobeTek) only lets me input two #s in the stochastic (%K, %D) I keep hearing about three variables on this thread...any help please would be appreciated.

    Something very simplistic

I think agree with what ctrader is saying, that the edge in the strategy comes from the trader's ability to predict the immediate move, which sounds fine with me. The edge seems to be enforced by the strict discipline built into the system... I guess the trouble I was having was if you don't...

    Something very simplistic

Quah, You made a comment about using the system on GE stock, for example, in an earlier post. I'm curious if you've used it yet in a stock, perhaps a noisy OTC with high correlation to the NDX futures or something like that... Also, let's say the strategy one day becomes invalid for...

    firm a fake?

I can only vouch for my experience with Innovative. I'm a happy customer of theirs and they are not a 'fake' as I said in my earlier post. What kind of deal you may get depends on your style, volume, capitalization, record, etc. so take all of that into consideration. I've noticed these...

    strike on iraq

The Palestinian people have been shit on a lot. So have the Isrealis and now Americans. What else can you say? There's no doubt that American, Palestinian, and Isreali governments have made mistakes and acted against their people's best interests. If you believe any one of these is...

    what is this called?

What you're asking kinda reminds me of what I've heard about Neural Network technology. The networked processors, imitating a brain, can learn in real time from their mistakes, or something like that. I guess when these tools are actually able to calculate fear and greed and take advantage...

    Can Anyone Comment on Real-Tic?

I used Real Tick for a short time before changing to GlobeTek. I guess your style and priorities would dictate which is better for you. I was looking to trade equities only and wanted fastest possible execution speed. Real Tick IMO was Real Slow, but it did have integrated options trading...

Bond fund guru predicts dow 5000 and other cheerful notes

... This doesn't even scratch the surface with the impending 100 trillion dollar derivative disaster that may come within the next 5 years. aphie [/B] Hey Aphie, could you expand on the idea about the 'derivatives disaster?' Biggest sign the worst is yet to come, a good...

    IRAQ attack is a bluff

Seems to me our guys should know something, the way they've been talking...and that's just Iraq, let alone Iran and Syria. Going into Iraq at this point seems like a no-brainer 'cause GWB's put his credibility on the line.
