You are a far better trader than me. Until I acquire the ability to pick the exact end of a move I will have to settle for the inferior practice of scaling out.

If you do not scale out of trades, is it safe to assume that you have the ability to pick the exact top's and bottom's?

I've had the same problem, ah quotes are useless the last few days. On top of this I just tried to enter a trade in ILMN and I recieved the "can only close this contract" message.

I've never seen that message before, but I have always had my settings to allow extended hours trading. If you've already tried cancelling the order, logging out and then back on to TWS, I don't know what to suggest.

I just placed a bid underneath which was accepted, won't take a sell order, as there is none available to short. Not sure what the problem could be, but it's likely on your end. Good luck.

I had the same problem buying a quad card from the offer. After several e-mails back and forth with customer service over the course of a couple days, I was finally able to add it to the cart and purchase. They said it was a glitch related to a change in part numbers.

As I posted on the other thread, I have been getting the "Could not value order" about 50% of the time when I enter a short trade. I then immediately resend the order, and it goes through.
