I have tried to keep a journal several times in my career, but after a couple of weeks I usually get too lazy to keep it up. Does not seem to affect my performance one way or another. After doing this for long enough I know when I am making a mistake and I correct it immediately.

Not sure if you noticed, but anything to do with foreign internet has been on fire this year. Besides CHINA, I've been trading NTES, SOHU, SINA, ASIA, IIJI, EWEB and REDF. Although I would not personally trade such a thin stock GSOL moved 50% today on less than 100,000 vol.

Most brokers will provide you with a worthless stock letter which allows you to take the loss, while keeping the stock. If for some reason the stock ever comes back to life your cost basis will be zero.

If you are actively trading intraday the latency will drive you crazy. You also need to have some alternative plans if any weather comes your way. The satelite tends to lose its signal whenever in rain, snow and high winds.

At the very least IB could notify us in a timely manner which systems were working so I would not have to try several ECN's every time I enter a trade.

From what I can tell, do not use smart order routing and do not put in stops. IB is a mess today

Now I am getting filled on orders 5 min after the price moved past my limit order.
