$ reversal ?

    I see; thanks. Dollar index will likely find support @ 80. I'll be watching to see if that support breaks.

    You owe it to yourself to educate yourself on what is happening

    Yeah, I'm not blaming them for the emotion: I'm just saying that I wish that it could be seen by every avg. joe in the US, but minus that emotion so that they wouldn't be resistant to the facts. On gold and silver: I've always said that a gold/silver standard is the only thing that makes...

    You owe it to yourself to educate yourself on what is happening

    I watched Money Masters the other day - full of interesting history. Knowing the history of the system is very useful. Like for example, the goldsmiths and the start of FR banking. I wish that everyone in the country would watch the video, but with one exception: I would take out any...

    I'm going long here

    I think it's wrong to assume that the Fed is incompetent - they're not stupid, and this is their job - they think about it 24/7. If you assume that they're trying to help the country's economy get better, then they might seem incompetent. I assume instead that they're positioning for...

    $ reversal ?

    I'm kind of wondering if a rate cut actually is on the way. I feel like the prospect of an emergency rate cut has kind of gone away, especially if US stocks rally today (as I feel that they might). But the initial period of panic has subsided, and the dollar is coming back in a bit...

    $ reversal ?

    Suppose that the dollar strength is in part caused by the failure of large firms, and the deleveraging/liquidation of hedge funds. They had dollar shorts and dollar hedges, they're forced to liquidate either because they're failing, they've failed, redemptions, or deleveraging for whatever...

    This may not be the average bear market!

    You owe it to yourself to educate yourself on what is happening

    People sometimes paint the Fed as "bumbling" and "incompetent". I think it's naive to think they don't know what they're doing. They're not stupid, and this is their job; they know exactly what they're doing - they're making a sick profit on the backs of the people.

    You are just permanently bullish, huh?

    Is my money safe at Interactive Brokers ?

    Of course I do, and it's IB (which is why I'm reading this thread) - but that doesn't mean that I must feel 100% secure with my money there. Of course it's a tradeoff between security and the ability to invest in certain things, but it's worth questioning the security of ANY bank or broker...

    MOTHER of all Psy Ops campaign to begin soon....just watch!!!

    Notice Dylan Ratigan on CNBC: he joined all the other CNBC reporters in bashing everyone and anyone who was against the bailout, and just generally being a "bailout cheerleader" every minute he was on the air. This was before the bailout. After the bailout, it was a different...

    It's funny, you're the second person who mentioned assassins. Hashashin - you know their story?

    Time To Die!!!

    This is what Sun Tzu calls "death ground" - putting yourself in a position where you have to win or die. There's a time and a place for that, but this may not be it.

    Time To Die!!!

    It's like a hail mary pass. But quarterbacks only throw these when there's seconds left in the game and little hope of anything else working. No quarterback would throw a desperate hail mary in the first quarter, would he? This is not your last chance in life to make money trading, is it?

    What time is the senate vote?

    I believe that if the bailout passes the House, the market will bottom and turn around immediately - because CNBC said it was the case.

    Help a High School with a Trading Project

    I'm sure there are experiments that would be just as good or better, but I think kids will learn something from it; and the point is to teach them something. Facts that are read tend to be quickly forgotten, but demonstrations make a greater impression. It's not a pointless exercise at all, in...

    Help a High School with a Trading Project

    No, but it's not about teaching kids to trade. A simulated futures pit is a display of supply/demand and other factors affecting prices in real life. I may have misunderstood what you were trying to say though.

    Help a High School with a Trading Project

    bwolinsky, everybody learns that economics is the "allocation of scarce resources" - it's the first sentence in every economics textbook ever written! The challenge is teaching kids what that means. Seeing how a futures pit works is definitely not pointless - I disagree with you...

    House May Not Pass The Bill

    That's interesting. I don't see how the US govt. will gain though, so it's hard for me to believe that a lot of others believe it, too.
