Oil Rig Count and Predicting a Rebound

Late 2008/early 2009 to clarify, I'm referring to the analogous cycle bust back then when the WTI curve flipped into steep contango. The front routinely blew out to $2-5 under the deferred month into expiration, while we're seeing relatively stable behavior this time around.

Oil Rig Count and Predicting a Rebound

Anyone have flavor on why G/H remained fairly stable on the front month plunge under $30? Where's the volatility in the curve & super contango if the Cushing storage situation is (allegedly) as precarious as 2008?

    IB NYBOT Data Fees

$1500/year is absurd, for a 1-lot passive buyer of TF it amounts to 1.5% a year on the notional value! Doesn't ICE realize they are destroying their own markets by excluding retail, you can't maintain an ecosystem if all you're left with are arbs and HFT's. PS - Has anyone seen an official...

    ICE $120/mo non-pro data fees

Yeah it's a pass-through give or take, there may be some back-end distribution fees that account for the $2.50. FWIW esignal and iqfeed charge $101/mo. My beef isn't with IB, it's with ICE, although I'm hoping a 30% hike to $120 something is a typo.

    ICE $120/mo non-pro data fees

I'm going to assume IB is just passing along the fees although I haven't seen the 2016 schedule on the ICE website yet either, they usually publish it in late November. Last year the fees went from $85->$95/mo so I'm hoping a 30% hike to $120 is a typo.

    ICE $120/mo non-pro data fees

This is getting outrageous, $1500/year per "exchange" meaning if you trade TF *and* an energy product it's $3000/year. Doesn't ICE realize they are sucking the retail blood out of these markets until there is nothing left? These markets are already a wasteland of HFT and arbs, how do you get a...

    Unofficial TWS bug thread

Back end issue - All the exchange-traded treasury intercommodity spreads (NOB, FOB, etc...) disappeared from TWS after the March futures expiration, can't pull up the front month (June)

Anyone find 4K monitor workable at 28"

Yeah that's a good idea, there are hundreds of complaints about GTX970/980 owners having problems with displayport and 4K monitors too at the moment (DP required to run at 60hz).

Anyone find 4K monitor workable at 28"

GTX980 which is overkill unless you're gaming at 4K, but I don't upgrade often so I like to future proof. I've seen both the PB287Q and Samsung 590D, they definitely get great reviews for the price, my concern though is reading text and mouse clicking at native resolution. You'll notice if they...

    IB - Stuttering market depth

Bump, anyone else seeing this? Is anyone at IB aware of any changes to data throttling on futures market depth (made around the beginning of February)? Since then I'm routinely getting fills and seeing depth and last trade "catch up" to my price what seems like several 100ms later. I'm aware...

Anyone find 4K monitor workable at 28"

If anyone is trading off one of the newer 28" 4K monitors (i.e. asus pb287q), is the desktop and text size workable at native resolution without scaling? My inclination is to go to 1440p instead until the 30"+ monitors come down in price.

    IB - Stuttering market depth

Anyone else having stuttering on futures market depth the last week or so? The update frequency seems several 100ms delayed compared to the speed I experienced in January. For example I'll get a report on a fill (a few ticks away from market) then see my booktrader "catch up" to that price...

    IB Exposure Fee

That's outlandish, IB is probably one of the most secure places to park assets among the choices we have. Case in point their stock is trading north of where the CHF debacle took place, can't say the same for some of the bucket shops. Look, if they want to discourage 40-1 leveraged gambling...

Did Interactive Active Brokers Honor CHF Stops Thursday ?

luisHK - The audit trail can be a little confusing, the field you have to search for to determine if IB capped one of your orders is 6591, that field shows the price IB modified your order to, presumably without your consent. If it caused you to legitimately miss a fill, you should absolutely...

IB - Futures price capping, denied ability to trade

It seems to fall on deaf ears, I have not heard a single legitimate defense from IB other than the vague "regulators make us do it" which is bullshit, otherwise every other futures broker would be out of compliance with the NFA and CFTC. I've read the exchange regulations - they make clear you...

    chf crosses

luisHK - If you were aggrieved by capping in the futures you should demand a fill at 1.05, that's the only way this stupidity will end. You have a rock solid case if you were due a fill, no other broker does this. I maintain IB has no right to modify your limit price in these situations...
