beautiful OPG trade in WYE today. Had a block trade at the open of 193700 shares for $59.20 (yesterday close = $57.39). Sold off straight line thereafter to a low of $57.42. Anyone has a clue what the MM was doing ? I would feel pretty "ripped off" as a buyer of the stock. Oliver

IPO shares can't be bought on margin in the first 4 weeks. Maybe that's why the retail can't short it. Prof traders should be able to short it, although in my experience it is close to impossible in the first days since there is a shortage of stock to borrow. OLiver

Babak, i think you can use the ratio of insider $ selling/ buying as a nice indicator for timing the market. If the ratio is low (as in sept 98 and sep 01) it's a strong buy signal with a time horizon of a couple of months. But keep in mind, no matter what, insiders will ALWAYS be net sellers...
