How long before the Fed Funds rate is rised again?

BB said today that the Fed "may" need to tighten policy to prevent inflation. This will likely trigger new waves of debt defaults, similar to the subprime triggering. My guess is a slight commencement in tightening 1/2 way through 2009.

Let's Talk About How Goldman Makes Money; 1 in 6 in USA Unemployed or Underemployed

Asiaprop and the rest of the pro-GS crowd fail to understand that 'free capitalism' does not entail a right to fraudulently sell worthless securities that have been fraudulently labelled as AAA to fraudulent banks looking to making fraudulent short-term profits as the fraudulent bubble inflates...

Ron Paul says healthcare not a right

I posted this on the ZeroHedge health care rant, and I'll post it here too. Most of the 'philosophical' arguments being presented against any level of socialized health provision is patently flawed. -- There is nothing philosophically wrong about "stealing" from the rich, lucky and...

dr doom say worst may be behind us.

You traders don't understand; He's not calling a stock market bottom, he's just saying the recession (meaning negative gdp growth) should be finished soon. If you read the article I posted, you'd see he also discusses how the recovery will likely be jobless, weak and extremely slow.

Dow Jones and Forex Currencies Correlation

Higher EURUS means a weaker dollar vis-a-vis the euro does it not? Maybe the correlation is so strong lately because foreigners understand any gains in the DOW at this point are offset by quantitative easing (money printing) by the Fed? Sure, the credit money supply is being destroyed...

Is A Case Of Quant Trading Sabotage About To Destroy Goldman Sachs?

Can't you look at the date of what you post before you get all inflammatory? It's old news. NYSE admitted its mistake and added GS to the list ages ago. Ofc that doesn't detract from the fact that GS likely engages in patently unethical and unfair trading.

Only those without debt will survive this longlasting recession?

U.S. Mint suspends sales of almost all gold and silver coins

Unforunately, neither of the arguments in this thread are convincing. Allowing privatized banks and central banks to manipulate the money supply at whim and create asset, price and credit bubbles (and then get bailed out after doing so) is clearly non-optimal. Likewise, a gold standard is...
