    Sell a system

I'm looking for something like Collective2, but that offers access to Hang Seng and Kospi futures/options. Thanks.

    trading systems vendor?

I get the impression covestor is strictly for stock investors. For those trading futures contracts or something overseas, it would seem they must use collective2 or another site.

    Anyone trading from Singapore?

Yeah, I see they only have 'individual members' now - not sure what the difference is, given that as a local I spent very little time on the floor. Still, there might be benefits to membership, and one might even use that to get residency as I described above.

    Anyone trading from Singapore?

One avenue is to register as a local on Simex. Simex will then sponsor your residency permit, subject to certain minimums for trading volume. Alternately, you can incorporate your Local seat and then write a short business plan and apply for Entrepass based on you business. Been there, done that.

    A Jackson Hole Weekend

I don't know ... not sure I would call it a minor event given the highly coordinated 'stimulus' -like activity central bankers have undertaken around the world. Now the question is, how will all of this extraordinary stimulus be unwound? China seems to have gotten the ball rolling unilaterally...

    A Jackson Hole Weekend

Some crazy Friday we're having today. Asia tanked on the Bloomberg story that Chinese officials have sent a memo around to the banks in advance of putting a reign on lending. (Note Shanghai has fallen ~20% from recent peak.) Oddly though, most of the Asian markets put in a huge rally either...

How to write call options at IB?

Dude: not to be rude, but the depth of your cluelessness is stunning. Go pick up a basic options book and read it before annoying the sh*t out of everyone here with questions like this. FYI: Selling short a call option is the same thing as 'writing' a call option.

Anyone know where I can get the Thur settlement prices for the SEP options chain, short of calling the exchange? I'd like to see how they settled given the crazy index settle. If I look at Friday price changes from IB, does this accurately indicate Thur settle prices as such? SEP Kospi200...

    Kospi's Nightmare Settle: Aug 13, '09

Eleven percent sounds really wild. If it is as you say, that options-only expirations tend to close down, while futures expry's tend to close up, this would suggest that expirations are heavily gamed by institutions. This is because big institutions are primarily long both futures and puts...
