    IB and Subaccounts

It's not even necessary to set this up - IB offers the ability to create subaccounts for one individual. Can be done from the Acct. Mgmt. screen. They can be used to run multiple strategies, but margining is account specific, so risk in one subaccount won't offset against risk in another...

    Trend Following depends on Prediction

No, but you wouldn't follow someone on the street if you didn't predict there'd be a benefit to doing so (just like you wouldn't follow the market if you didn't expect it to lead to profits), that's what surf is arguing - it's just a matter of perspective, doesn't much matter either way...

    Exhuastive Set of Listed Equities

http://www.finviz.com/screener.ashx Bottom right, hit the 'export' link. Not sure if it's completely exhaustive but they have ~6430 listed securities, should be a good start considering it's free and takes ~3 seconds.

    Marc Rich (1935-2013) Dead

Don't think Snowden's case is an appropriate analogy to Rich's.

Five to one, just for fun

Only looking to take trades with a 5:1 reward to risk at inception. No adjustments to increase risk but may move stops to BE or reduce TP. No plan for entry. Happy to take other side of ideas, will do best to post marketable trades. My advice is to fade these. Will post some trades...

    Green Monday (BTFD)

Well, I hope we go up on Monday, so it's definitely going down - not to mention we used to have all the Black Monday! threads, and now we're left with BTFD!.

    ES Journal - 2013

YTD there's only been 3 tuesdays with a negative return (no worse than down 30bps at that), but that still doesn't really answer your question. More importantly though, if you're a fan of alliteration and tacos, taco tuesdays are fantastic.

    VICE (HBO) Great Show

Yea, I like how they framed that issue - something to the effect of 'you can try social engineering but in the end mother nature will find a way to fuck you'. I didn't realize VICE has actually been around since the mid 90s, I guess they started as a magazine and have put out a variety of...

    VICE (HBO) Great Show

Lol, I was actually thinking the same thing when I watched the latest episode yesterday. I don't like Maher, and every time I read what the upcoming episode is about I'm not interested - yet I end up watching the show anyway, and after every episode I'm like 'damn, this show is good'. Yea, the...

Do full-time forex traders exist or is it just make believe?

1min charts are clearly noise. There are definitely strategies that can make money off this noise, but retail TA scalping aint one of em, I'm actually with marketsurfer on this one, lol.

Trading with a Stop Loss in the Futures Market is for Losers

Lol, everyone trades with stops, some just call them margin calls.:D

Do full-time forex traders exist or is it just make believe?

Lol, 10x pttdd is already pretty retarded, few are even doing that, at 6% per day average, assuming any kind of volatility you're looking at ~30-50pttdd - drawdowns aren't measured in % terms, rather in # of days until blowup. That said, for fun, anyone think it's possible? Anecdotally there...

Who Else Offers Some Free ETF Trading?

Fwiw, factorshares are 2x levered spreads. Good point about TDA, but iirc they impose a minimum holding period of ~30days.

Backtesting an Opening Range Break out with EOD data?

Look, if you have access to 1min data, use it. If it's not historical, just pay for it and run the backtest, won't take long and you'll have your answers. Much easier than gathering opinions imo. Additionally, if you have access to 1min data, then you can analyze the difference in projected...

Backtesting an Opening Range Break out with EOD data?

Then there's your answer, so simple in hindsight, just trade during high volatility.:D

Backtesting an Opening Range Break out with EOD data?

Actual range doesn't matter (within reason of course), feel free to try whatever OR # you think is significant, it's all the same in the end. Besides, there should be some level of vol normalization, which is usually pretty standard, no? Execution is all that be important, at least that's the...

Backtesting an Opening Range Break out with EOD data?

Agreed, you can come up with an OR and test ideas, but given the data granularity you'll have to assume worst case scenarios and results will be meh. Also, stops/targets don't really change the distribution, so choice of underlying will be more important.
