the release of the BoE minutes also provide good trading opportunities... better than anything ECB... or maybe its just that i'm such a cable addict...

    Offshore Inc. for tax-avoidance trading?

things have changed... if u r happy with a simple set-up, e.g. a cayman exempt fund or a bvi private fund, incorp as a limited partnership, u can find reputable enough administrators who will charge u from $20K/p.a. until u r big enough for them to charge u 5-10 basis pts/mth. as for audit...

    Offshore Inc. for tax-avoidance trading?

doesn't matter, as long as your 'pivot' bank acct and your brokers are domiciled in 3rd countries. and if your not a US national its even less of an issue... now if you happen to be a US national and want to live in the US longer term (some people do...), yr best bet is to expatriate yrself for...

    Offshore Inc. for tax-avoidance trading?

another much simpler way to do this is what i'd call a double-expatriate scheme... i.e. open a bank account in a tax-friendly jurisdiction (e.g. HK but not only, u don't need to be a resident there, don't even need to go there to open the acct) and live in a country other than your home country...

FXCM Is Buying RefcoFX - Deal is Done - Funds are safe

no fx broker wants to admit it openly yet but they are pretty much all facing significant client / funds withdrawals as a result of the refco collapse... nobody's comfortable leaving more money than necessary on the account at this juncture... now, one way to restore confidence would be to offer...

FXCM Is Buying RefcoFX - Deal is Done - Funds are safe

pretty good, given the circumstances... boy, must be real ugly for the guys who got cut though, i wldn't wish that to anybody, not that way...

ACM is 5 pips on majors, not 3... (std accts)

good but cld be better, but... shall we discuss all this on another thread perhaps... this one's about the (mal)practice of "individual pricing"... even if nobody seems to care much actually...

    Ayone trading with Captial Forex?

demos r demos, the only real test is live... i can believe more leverage (altho' i already get 1% on currenex & hotspot) & better execs, but tighter spreads?? how tight? anyway, assuming we're between pros here, let me tell u what my additional criteria are for selecting a single b/d...

ACM is 5 pips on majors, not 3... (std accts)

interesting, i like the UK for the regulatory environment (barings aside...)... ask them who their prime broker is (probably RBS). if i were u i'd prefer they charge me commissions than letting them factor it into the spread: 1) its cheaper, 2) i don't need an additional piece of code, however...

ACM is 5 pips on majors, not 3... (std accts)

currently using hotspotfxi & fxcmpro/currenex, soon to access currenex via rbs tho'. complaints about coesfx? i haven't checked but from what i have read so far they seem to have a rather good rep., but... other ecn-type players: other than fxall, fxconnect/globallink/statestreet, there is...

ACM is 5 pips on majors, not 3... (std accts)

hi marsupilami - totally agree, and there r ways to get 100x on ECNs as well for those of us who need it, and i also use 2 ECNs in complement to a number of single broker-dealer platforms, each of which having its pros & cons.... however that doesn't stop me from pushing for an ever 'cleaner'...

ACM is 5 pips on majors, not 3... (std accts)

you cld be right trader/god, however that wldn't make it less of a rip-off / wldn't make me any happier being "individually priced" on all other majors to be honest... i still think the practice shld be discouraged, and that "fair dealing" obligations shld be imposed by local reg. / self-reg...

FXCM Is Buying RefcoFX - Deal is Done - Funds are safe

any inside info as to how much currently remains in refco seg futures accounts altogether? $1bio? $3bio? any whisper number?

FXCM Is Buying RefcoFX - Deal is Done - Funds are safe

because of the 'super' leverage actually (also the relative lack of slippage and the relatively guaranteed fills up to 5-10-20million units depending on which pair, at most of those brokers), there are situations where it can be used to the trader's advantage... ;-)

ACM is 5 pips on majors, not 3... (std accts)

the 3 pips are just an illusion, as soon as you enter into a trade, ACM "individual prices" you, i.e. moves the spread at least 2 pips against you compared to pretty much any external reference feed or even better, another ACM acct holding no position in the same pair! just to be clear, this is...
