I use longer Intraday bars 15 then 30 for trailing stops. When the market surged down and made a large bar (midday) I knew things were coming to an end so tightened my stops. Didn't play second leg down but caught 90% of move. Also, you can tell a good rally or sell off day by the speed and...

    Ib Customer Service Sucks

RE: Best at IB...I track my fills vs. what I expect to be filled out for almost every order and with 300-700 shares in liquid NASD stocks, I'd estimate I'm always filled at the NBBO or within .02 95% of the time with market orders. Shorting is surprisingly close as well at or within .04 of the...

Anything that goes the same direction all day is great to me, Long or Short. I wish this happened more than twice a month.:D

    Ib Customer Service Sucks

For 2k a month in commission savings I can stand their customer service. I lose a few hundred a month due to programming errors, stops not working, etc., but I can't say I lose 2K...Except for women, fast and cheap is hard to beat. :)

Isn't today beautiful? The day I cut my shares in 1/2 we get a day like this! Short BRCM, KLAC, EMLX, QLGC...still holding

    Stocks for Swing Trading

Another good "free" Swingtrading site is www.mrswing.com. I use most of his same rules for entry and exit, and find them to be very profitable if used correctly. He has exact instructions on entering orders through the IB interface. Haven't looked at it for 5 months though so it might have...

    Stocks for Swing Trading

Swing trading with Daytrading stocks will chop you up IMO. One problem is "Daytrading" stocks tend to gap up and down a lot overnight, which can be unnerving and cause you to close positions too early. Of course the gaps tend to offset in the long run, but they lack the smooth rise and descent...

    IB routing to PRIMEX

There is no assumption made that they are trying to steal money, but that they are trying to move liquidity from the current free market type network, to their own domain where they make the rules. All this with the smokescreen that price improvement similar to the NYSE auction style can be...

Good integration of all the sites features. I like the most recent threads all in one place like several months ago. Looks good.

    IB routing to PRIMEX

Don't worry Trader5287, IB is fast moving and sometimes creates road kill, etc. but they will straighten it out. If you don't trade the S&P100 it won't affect you for awhile anyway. :)

    IB routing to PRIMEX

MM's want to return to their glory days. There is nothing positive about what they're doing but trying to create a Monopoly and get their power back. Even if they give better fills I think the individual trader should avoid them in lieu of the long-term damage that will be done by this...

    IB routing to PRIMEX

Out of 20 or so trades today using Best, I haven't had a single one route to Primex? They must have disconnected it temporarily?

    Luck

If you flip a coin a single time the probability it lands on heads is 50%. If you do it 1,000 times the probability is the same that you will get 50% heads. If the coin is slightly weighted to one side then the individual and the overall probability may be 53% heads 47% tails. So I postulate...

    IB routing to PRIMEX

The Primex system is equivalent to a "Black Hole." They are attempting to suck all market participants into their dimension by pulling order flow out of the conventional market, and directing it to their auction process. Market Makers wanting to participate in revenue generated from Primex...

    IB routing to PRIMEX

Primex is designed to suck all the volume from the ECN's and maintain the Market Makers status IMO. Can't see any reason why this would be an improvement over the current system? :)

    Nyse?

Sure its tough to sell an illiquid NASD stock when the bid is falling but there are many price levels below that you can sell into. And liquid NASD stocks are easy to sell into. Are you saying the Specialist doesn't use market support to fill his orders? He doesn't spread the stock down to...

    IB routing to PRIMEX

Here is a detailed explanation of how it works: http://www.nasdaqtrader.com/trader/hottopics/primex/pmx_syst_desc.pdf Sounds like the primary objective of the Primex exchange is to offer price improvement over the NBBO. Bids or Offers that offer the most price improvement have priority to...

    IB routing to PRIMEX

Since Primex is an auction matching multiple sources as well as its own book, does IB's "Best" route see their best bid and ask, or just try to get a good fill there first and then goto another route? If they don't have the liquidity yet that process could be detrimental to good fills IMO. I...
