Can you guys log in to IB Account on the web right now?

TWS shuts down on Saturdays but generally I'm able to log in to my account management, but right now I can't, into any of my accounts with an error message "500 ERROR" on the tab showing. Yes I'm paranoid after going through some threads on this board. . .

I Had To Do It: Poll - Who Thinks A Crash Is Near (1-4 months)?

Correct. open-end (i.e. index) ETFs do not have a fixed number of shares outstanding - the number therefore fluctuates on a daily basis. Market Makers can control the float size by buying or selling the underlying basket of shares (and giving it to the fund admin at the end of the day). The...

I Had To Do It: Poll - Who Thinks A Crash Is Near (1-4 months)?

This is an interesting info and outlook but my past experience with individual stocks with high short interest tells me that I have to be a lot more analytical to expect any contrarian opportunity on a situation like this. Even if the whole world is indeed short, if there are no whales willing...

    Do You Really Trust Cnbc?

CNBC is more than meets the eye. Not always, but enough times to make watching it worthwhile. Even Pisani, who a lot of times sounds like nothing but a market cheerleader stands by his own opinions sometimes, and a trader (yes a trader too, not just an investor) can get some useful insight...

How do you lose $5 billion in one week?

Thanks for recapitulating what we already know :D. So, with that logic, a speedboat would have easily navigated around the iceberg that sank the Titanic. But does that preclude its captain and crew of any responsibilities whatsoever? Could it be that their hubris, such as in their belief that...

    Charles Nenner simply unbelievable

Pfft, I saw all of his high low predictions come true in the past few months (and not only that I've made quite a profit by taking his calls into account swing trading, though I took those positions only after thorough research of my own, including the move today), while I was quite amused by...

Any traders who use Keltner,Fibonacci, and Elliott

If you swing, Elliott Wave analysis on 60 min chart can be very useful (and profitable).

    Charles Nenner simply unbelievable

Nope, I've been watching CNBC for the last 6 years and I've never seen a guy come on a show and so non-chalantly predict short-term lows and highs with such an immaculate accuracy (I think some of it has to do with his clients heeding his advice, otherwise known as self-fulfilling prophecy, but...

What do you do when you miss your stop?

Think like a boxer - if I'm down a certain percentage of the portfolio, I consider myself to have been KO'ed and just get the heck out of the position. Imagine a boxer who just got knocked out and despite his body telling him otherwise, he keeps getting up only to get pounded again and again...

No way are stocks selling off in Sept

    - Is the article outdated? Yes. - Can you learn by comparing the article's prognosis to the unraveling of the short term NDQ action back in July? Absolutely.
