Last I heard, they were standing pat---at least for the time being. They said they may cut production in the future. However, many members ignore production quotas and pump as much as they can.

Ahhh, ToS, like OX and many others, use Prophet.net for interactive charts. Choose TOS Charts. Works for me.

InvesTools starts with stocks, teaching fundamentals and chart trends. The more advanced classes are aimed at options and some include mentoring sessions. You're right in one aspect, IT does seem to favor stocks over indexes by a large factor. Cru

Murry, SPX is at 1327 and vega is at ~-67. I'm just learning about vega. I would assume that would be high?

I went back to the OX message board to look at the last entry. The board moderator said they were working on the double diagonal margin issue. Could be something is coming down the pike. Cru

The reason for that answer was that it was the "new" requirement from GS, the OX closing agent at that time. Since then, OX has dropped GS and is now their own closing agent. Margin rules have now changed. They only charge for one side for an IC and similar trades. Check their website. The...

Well, I got nervous and rolled my Oct06 SPY 133/136C up to Oct06 134/138C to give me some cushion---just in case. Reduced the overall credit from $1.07 to $0.60. Better some credit than no credit. Cru

Well, I got started with InvesTools in May 2005. I went to one of the 1-day 5-step classes for equities. I knew zip. I'm an engineer, not a finance wizard. But, I also deal/manage multi-Million$ projects, do cost analysis, vendor negotiation & management, plus some evaluation of roic, EVA...

InvesTools has had a long time relationship with OptionsXpress. THey also used the OX Virtual Trading system as well. I'd heard that InvesTools were trying for a better business agreement with OX. I guess that's now dead. You could prep a trade in InvesTools and pass it to OX. I saw today...

You see the announcement about the ToS merger? ToS is merging with InvesTools. I'd retained my InvesTools account simply because it has the best research tools that I've found. They've a new spread scanner that is better than the ToS version, IMO. Course, I'm still new to ToS. :D

I did a couple of times last Spring and was successful. The stress level, however, can be extremely high. If you can predict the trend, you can make money. Making the correct prediction, however, isn't easy. Some cases, you'd be better off flipping a coin. :(

Everything I've read agrees with that. All-in-all, I don't mind a Bear turn. I do better in a bear market than in a Bull market.

    Vertical Spreads for Aggressive Growth

SPY was pretty good yesterday, picked up a Oct06 133/136C for $1.07. 134/136 was available for $.80 for awhile. Haven't done too much with SPY but this seems reasonably good for Oct. I expect S&P to be heading down at any time to somewhere around 1290. If the FOMC makes a hike, perhaps even...
