Obligations when you have a Series 65

I have to pity the poor fools who would engage with you on streaming, when you are an RIA and can't answer your own question about liability.

I can't get the parts to fix my car.

Continuing here on Elite Car Repair, you can get an AC Pro AC refill kit for $40.00 at Autozone. It is a bottle of compressed refrigerant with a hose and adapter that just plugs into the car's AC system. Easy to use, and it works perfectly.

I can't get the parts to fix my car.

Find a good independent mechanic, and never take your car to the dealer if it is out of the warranty period. Many replacement parts are often generic and/or available outside a dealer supply chain. If the dealer tells you a part is not available, that means they don't have it (in order to mark...

Paper trading server is down since 08:46:19 ET

Not a bad idea for a paper trading server to go down. It provides a valuable lesson that shit happens, and resting exit orders are potentially useless.

    Software for historical performance/correlations

Far more than TA. It excels at precisely what you want to do. Good luck.

Can this be done with IB orders?

Ridiculous. You're asking a platform to look ahead in time to allocate your capital based on future trades that may never happen. The last guy who tried to pull that off is currently serving 16-20.

Selecting a recurring stock for intraday trading scalping strategy

Look at high volume 3X ETFs/ETNs. TECL, TQQQ, UDOW, UPRO, LABU, SOXL etc.

How to know whether I am overfitting?

If RSI is your primary signal generator, look at the dates when most of your stocks are signaling an entry. If you're generating a large number of trades at the same time, it's likely that your results are just keying off significant market moves during your test period. Trading 'baskets' of...

Advice on how to make 5%/month on $1 million

This is all thoughtful advice. But for whom? The OP has never returned.

Most Effective Way To Go Long Volatility?

You've identified the issues. In my experience, other than intraday, trying to play long vol doesn't present a good risk/reward profile, or a good use of assets, whatever the instrument.

Call Selling Strategy (3 year backtest results)

OP says that his entries are based on bid price at 15:45 the afternoon BEFORE the entry. This makes no sense, at least to me. Because if the opening price the next morning is above that limit, which is common, actual trading would have him filled at the market open as a market order. The...

Managing a large Account for Income?

It's a bad idea to ever offer investing/trading advice to family members, even your own children. Or, put another way, you'll never be a hero in your own back yard.

Call Selling Strategy (3 year backtest results)

There are a number of red flags here. But primarily, your backtest has you entering options positions as a market order at the market open, and assuming a decent fill. Ain't gonna happen. And generally, it just doesn't pass the smell test. You've created a system that shorts calls on big...

    Question about lawsuit for broker

The error is clearly yours, in that you did not research and nail the procedures PRIOR to entering the trade in the first place. Your post isn't unlike hundreds I've seen here over the years, with traders asking advice in how best to exit a position, after they're already in it. All exit...

How much to add to a loser?

If you are trading intraday, in general, strength leads to strength, and weakness leads to further weakness. So adding to a loser just risks digging a deeper hole.

    Limit order in backtesting

Fills at limit orders will depend a lot on the volume. Low volume = potentially bad fills. Also be aware that if you are relying on signals accessing daily lows in backtesting equities, daily lows are sometimes historically inaccurate. So what you've seen in backtesting, may not have been...

Do my backtest is good enough??

If you are using Yahoo EOD data, and your backtest references LOW as an entry point, then your backtest will not be accurate. Yahoo daily lows for equities are often not accurate. Try running your backtest on ETFs that represent market indexes, and compare those to your basket of equities.

Missed to buy Call Options on Nvidia

On my backtesting platform, I have a Woulda-Coulda-Shoulda indicator. Strangely, the results over a 10 year period are always zero. Go figure.
