    Parallel, projected also come to mind. The trick is line supported by a trend, as you stated, all time highs wouldnt qualify. However, even if uncharted territory you can use lines to measure strength instead of using it as a fade tool which is how they should be used.

    Lines with the trend do matter, counter-trend lines are much less significant. A strong uptrend has no real resistance, just illusion of resistance, vice-versa for downtrends. Learn to use the lines that matter, and I dont mean trendlines, do your homework before claiming lines dont matter.
