    Turning $822 into $210432 by July 18, 2008

have you considered that the reason you were able to achieve 50%+ returns is precisely because you were unable to adhere to your stoploss? leveraged trading without stoplosses (hold until it comes back) will always produce spectacular returns until you blow up because you won't have losing...

Time to short MasterCard (MC) ?

don't short the strongest thing out there...if something is holding up there is generally a reason...also there must be massive short interest in this thing (haven't checked...) because everyone is betting that the credit cards are next. at least wait for it to break a bit? just mho. p.s. i...

What is unfolding reminds me of...

people will put there money in hard assets...oil gold wheat as things really start to get going...i dare say there will be a panic to get into these things eventually. i think the news could get a whole lot worse...there are still a lot of investment banks that are going to get smoked, still...

    Web-based historical back-testing

great idea! just ran through about 100 trades....ran the initial stake up to 1 mil and proceeded to lose it all in a couple of bad trades... this is like a discretionary swing trading backtesting machine. definitely illustrated a couple of points for me...there seems to be positive...

Can someone please explain the logic behind today's events?

excellent point, and one that few are addressing. the way my screen looks lateley, there are two types of trading sessions. inflation sessions where everything goes up, or non-inflation sessions where everything goes down. today was majorly the former.

    Any Thought's About The Euro?

been following this one closely as of late, as im sure are a lot of folks. i think a lot of people bailed during the big consolidation below 1.50 and the rush to get back in explains the strength of the move. overbought as of friday, hence the reversal...perhaps we are due to consolidate again...

Setting a Daily Loss Limit in IB

i guess you could do it with the API...but a post-it-note would be easier, and one is no better than the other without the discipline to stick to it.

IB refuses to answer problem ticket so how about you guys???

you know i'm not sure about that one...i think the accrued interest should be in USD not EUR, and IB normally just deducts it from your account at the end of the month... do a CHAT with a customer service rep at IB. Chat is normally quite helpful and will be instant unlike a problem ticket

IB refuses to answer problem ticket so how about you guys???

well if you have a -USD balance you are going to have to buy the $ on the market. Go and read the IB website about currency exchange. they have two gateways to the currency market IDEALPRO for large transactions and IDEAL for small transactions. you should also read about interest rate...
