QuoteTracke can't see YM via Interactive Brokers account

'ECBOT:@YM SEP 08' "For YM underlying symbol, you would need to add spaces to fill in the SSSS section of the symbol since YM is just 2 characters: ECBOT:@YM SEP 08" You were missing a space I believe? Two spaces between YM and SEP

Why is "ADD" called a disorder, let alone "treated"?

I've formed my own opinion on this, mainly from ongoing conversations with healthcare professionals. Parents don't want to strive to be parents any more. Have a problem with your kid? Drag him to the family practitioner, get an ADHD diagnosis, and shut him up with some pills. Have any other...

Successor to The Grail GGO/GWFO Software

EDIT: People are PMing me thinking I'm the developer. NOTICE THE QUOTES. Dug this up on Google. I'm not the developer, nor do I have anything to do with "GGO/GWFO". "The Grail currently markets 4 products. While these products are new to the market I will shortly explain the differences...

If you had to wake up at 4:00 AM every day?

Do you need 8 hours of sleep? I used to think I needed 8 hours, but have reconditioned myself to 6, and have never felt better. Secondly, siestas never tend to rejuvenate me, but I suppose it's just something you'd have to condition yourself for. An acquaintance of mine trades several...

    Stockcharts.com or Desktop Software?

I've used Stockcharts.com while on the road. It's a nice free alternative for EOD analysis, but I'd never do any intra-day work on it. Browsing the site will be tedious, especially if you're going to be looking at tons of charts. Try out QuoteTracker if money is an issue.

    Sierra Multiple Display

From what I remember, there isn't. You'll just have to live with stretching the GUI. Though, you could install another copy, and use it with a different data feed to have an additional instance of Sierra. http://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?file=MultipleServices.html

    Identifying Ranging Markets

In some of my models I've used linear regression analysis to measure "trendiness". So for example, if you want to measure the trendiness of a day, you could calculate a linear regression for all closing prices of 5 minute bars of a day. According to the slope and error, you could then make up...

    To learn

If you're worried about execution, because you're running some kind of high frequency low latency trading algorithm, go with C++. For everything else, just pick whatever suits you. I've been doing a lot of stuff in C#/F#.

SATA Hard Drives.. high pitch tone?

I can only confirm for an assortment of 2007 Raptors. I have installed Raptors from pre-2007 which do not make the noise. I asked a buddy of mine whose an engineer at Seagate, and he told me about the noisy FBDs.

SATA Hard Drives.. high pitch tone?

I know exactly what you're talking about, it's rather irritating. From what I know a few SATA drives use cheaper fluid bearing motors that will make that idle irritating high pitched noise. I think most of the manufacturers have now upgraded and use more quiet and reliable FBDs.
