What kind of Training did everyone do when they Started Day Trading

I agree...way too many trees. I really tried to boil it down to the essentials. What I have said has worked for me since WAY before kastro was born.

What kind of Training did everyone do when they Started Day Trading

Go to school NOT thinking about day trading. Get an education. If you are so focused on being a trader, then major in economics. Who knows if day trading will even be a viable profession in 3 years. I don't really believe that many 17 year olds end up doing what they thought they wanted to do at...

What kind of Training did everyone do when they Started Day Trading

You are very welcome. I tried to keep it simple, and really, it is. Notice that #1 on my list of 3 is Discipline. It is what seperates the winners from the losers. All the other stuff comes more naturally. I know it is hard to admit you are wrong and get out of a loser. It is also hard to...

What kind of Training did everyone do when they Started Day Trading

I could give a glib answer here too, but my real advice is to start watching a few stocks and get a "feel" for them. Pick say 4 or 5 stocks in 4 or 5 different industry groups. Make sure they are actively traded. Watch what these stocks do relative to each other both within their own groups...

the trend is up, market has bottomed.

I feel for too many reasons to talk about, this market is too hard to call right now in any significant time frame. I have been scalping on a daily basis for the first time in many years. Feels good to be flat at the end of the day. Having said this, I think that a 100 pt. rally in the nasdaq...

This says it all. It really is and has been my point all along. Arguing about "god" ...it escalates. Was a war ever fought that did not start with religious issues?

OK...let me try and clarify. I said I was offended. Wrong choice of wording. I did say it made me laugh. I guess I was a bit ashamed of myself for the reaction because I didn't feel it necessary to fan the flames. You knew the reaction from some here would be one of anger. So your intent seemed...

When someone asks "what you do for a living" what do you answer!

"I work in the defense of the principals of our national structure. I really can't discuss the details, but if I could, you would not understand anyway." :D

Darkhouse...I greatly admire your restraint....I loved the "I don't hate you" post. Conversely, I was offended by the "kill me now.I hate your mother" bit that was posted here recently by GG. I was ashamed of myself for laughing when I read it. And the weird thing is, I agree with his basic...

FPC...first off, let me say that overall, I actually agree with most of what you have said here. It is just a matter, for me, of is this appropriate forum? Also, "trying to tear down,..etc" is very different from "tearing down"...you quote me somewhat out of context. "discussion, debate, and...

    Superstition, Luck and Vodoo

Superstition, luck and Voodoo was intended to be a discussion about irrational behavior related to trading. A lighthearted look at what I thought were humorous responses to absurd catalysts that set traders to blaming the wrong socks or an unlucky parking spot, etc. Now this thread has...

    the size issue

The only time we did real big size as market makers (reportable limits) was when there really was no issue of liquidity. OEX, which we did constantly accounted for most of the open interest most of the time on the CBOE ...along with IBM (this was in the late 80's). The RJR - Nabisco deal was an...
