Hey this is a developing thread :D ,

Yeah but the thing is I want to be in a office, I cant focus being in my home, at least for now during teh beginning learning stages. I would really prefer making a trip to the city...cant stand my house.

But which element I trade isnt the topic of discussion in this thread...regardless of what I trade, I have other obstacles to conquer first which is finding a "home" ...

No, but I think stocks are easier and less volatile then futures. At least thats what i was told/recommended.

Well, futures is something I would consider, once I am profitable and consistent and understand how stocks move. Basically the inverse of what youre telling me. :)

WEll I do have a book for Series 63, what you mean move on ? I want to continue my journey/carreer as trading...I've only gotten my feet wet for 4 months, which was awesome, until they made me trade a grey box. Manual trading based on technical approach has been very interesting to me and more...

Hey ET, Some of you maybe have seen my other pretty big thread about how I started trading in late fall in the other Prop shop. Well their rules have changed and in February we were "FORCED" to trade a greybox automated system, which was not profitable and we were used as test subjects...

Yeah I got it..gona go over/research some firms this weekend and start making calls next week.

They changed / enforced new rules. In February which is why I left.

Yeah I put up a lil of my own capital, but their focus was automated and we were the test dummies for it, I lost almost 3k on their automated system since it still is in the beginning experimental phases.

Shiko, I left that place. 2nd of all I wasnt making money on Citi, only on really high volume days. 3rd of all they were focused on grey box trading and some other automated system that made my account go from up a few hundred , to down 4 digits. Its not the way to make money in the long run.

If you check again hes making small weekly gains, still higher than what avg. american makes in a week.

Can anybody that IS SUCCESSFULL AT TRADING recomend what type of firm I should look for in NYC ? I have been looking around now for 2 weeks , but I am not certain what to look for, or if I should keep " practicing" with my under cap'd retail account ? PM's are welcome.

Well...its kind of hard to get a mentor... I dont even know where to look for one thats actually " good " and trades, not just "teaches".

I had to leave because they told me I am not allowed to trade how I wanted to trade.

No I left the firm about 1 week ago, because towards the end I was unable to "hand trade" and trade based on technical analysis, but I was forced to do volume on scalps on Citi , as well as focus on their automated box trading system. I am currently looking for other firms in NYC area.
