How much did you lose on the journey to becoming profitable?

The biggest expense was not the money but time ! It depends how and what do you calculate but I would say it took about 7 years and lost money in bad trading something about 30ke. I turned profitable somewhere in 2011.

Winning, Losing & BetSize trading the ES

Be sure that the markets will trade through your limit orders. For example if you have a sell limit @ 2400.00 then you should see 2400.25 prints to be sure you get filled. Also the spread will do tricks for you not getting optimal fills everytime. Remember the LIVE situation will be different...

Winning, Losing & BetSize trading the ES

The first thing what I allways do with the new systems is some math: If you're paying "normal" retail commissions lets say about $3,56/RT and without knowing your "stoploss is very close" quessing it's something like 4 ticks you have to have ca. 86% win rate to be profitable. But in this...

Ways to hedge against a heavy loss in extreme situations for a scalper

I would add for your list the order types which are native to the exchange. This means when you put stoploss order in it goes directly to the exchange books and sits there. In the case of emergency this will cover every possible situations except the vanished bids and offers. Now you can have a...

Of course the win rate must be published along the RR so you can see the expectancy. Evermore2017, What a great expectancy you have (0.96R). Man you're VERY profitable. Congrats ! btw. What was your maximum drawdown (R or %) during those 1000 trades ? How long did it take to do this +960R profit ?

Let them talk :) It won't be much if this change will come. As long as we can trade TAX 0% it's a real deal. But the day when they will remove 0% rule it's time to lift the clutch. They know it and they won't remove it.

That was my point. Go to Estonia for some years as a project and then return. Just for an example: If you are consistently very succesful trader lets say doing 50% p.a. You do it next 10 years. Here in Finland you will pay about 20% tax annually which will give you your equity back about 6...
