    2 Day ROC

thinskis, "Following day" follows which day? If todays close indicates that tomorrow is a BUY day. Does one buy the close and look for confirmation on the "following" day? If price action confirms, trade is held and exited before the close? Or one buys next morning open (or lows)...

This may become a timeless classic (hm, sooner or later)

    2 Day ROC

thinskis, is price retraction required in addition to ROC slope opposition? Sometimes ROC can oppose trend while the price does not retract much. Thank you for your contributions to this board.

    housing crash

"...This happened in Japan, and prices nationally are still more than 60% below peak prices in 1992..." I wonder how this affected people who bought into the rally and people who got in at the bottom after crash? Given currency state and interest rates, is first group in a better shape...

    2 Day ROC

Great posts! By cool you probably mean the trade taken on last 1 or 2 bars? If so, do you mind sharing core decision process fro this trade? Is that trade triggered by slope of ROC (seems more likely to me) or some divergence (can't spot it, but what do I know...)?

Ryan Jones - the final frontier in snakeoil!!

There are a lot of gems here. Finding them is hard work in which addiction to ET helps:)

Unfortunately I can't, it is integrated with my system.

Ryan Jones - the final frontier in snakeoil!!

My comment referred to people who did not read anything at all on money management. I do not know about really advanced book on MM. I have read Ralph Vinces book a while back, the rest of the info is spread throughout trading books. Possibly good place to search would be Amazon with its...

Ryan Jones - the final frontier in snakeoil!!

Here are my impressions of the book: (-) Fixed Fractional method is touted as geometrical growth recepy. But nothing comes for free. It seems to me that geometrical growth comes as a result of geometrical exposure. Risk in such model growth faster than account. At some point you end up with...

Ryan Jones - the final frontier in snakeoil!!

F*ck. I just read his book on Fixed Ratio. What a joke. What's really not cool that I got a tip for this book from some clown (was that you Ryan?) on ET. And what is totally not cool is that I bought this book after reading plenty of negative reviews on Amazon:)

GLOBEX T-Bond (ZB) during volatile times

Could the loss of 3 ticks be attributed to the possibly poor eCBOT data feed IB gets in volatile times? Can refco (man etc..) users reply on the fills they get on simulated eCBOT stops during volatile times?

    Abandoning entity - IRS reaction

Agree, I had in mind a profitable entity. IRS has not interest at going after unprofitable activity. But your point brings up another option - one could just intentionally stop trading in entity for a period of time or show a monir loss.

    Abandoning entity - IRS reaction

Thanks! I am just considering getting an entity, thinking ahead.

    Abandoning entity - IRS reaction

Suppose person decides to abandon entity. It seems like futures traders after a certain point might be better of filing as individuals. Can IRS come after trader saying: "Look, your activity is/was conducted as a business, thus *is* a business - you must trade through entity"?

    Stupidist decision I ever made.

Clearly you were undercapitalized. It is much easier to make 10% on 300K then 100% on 30K. I think the lesson should be restated: - do not start trading for a living until profitable for a couple of years; - have enough capital, your yearly return should cover your expenses and leave enough...

    Limiting position risk w/o stops

I am brainstorming ideas on limiting position risk in index futures w/o using stops. Why w/o stops? During dramatic event stops may not always work. I would like to limit positions risk to 10%. Here is what I have come up with so far: 1) trade short only, due to directional bias in stock...
