I'd agree with this. There is a tendency (I'm being charitable here) in animals -- humans et al -- to believe themselves individually and in groups as better than others. This manifests itself in many ways: jingoism, racism, ethnic hatreds, exclusive and restricted clubs, genocide, the P&R forum...
