The only thing i know thats called a DMA, is a Displaced Moving Average. If thats what he is using I'm not sure.

    Its 2000 all over again

I really dont understand how shorting is any riskier then going long. To me, shorting has the same principles as going long just that you want price to go down rather then up.

    Slow Stochastic Use

The problem with stochastics, and all oscillators for that matter, is that you get a nice trending move and the thing is stuck in oversold or overbought and more then likely will you give you false signals. Of course they work great in sideways markets, but I would just like to wait and jump on...

nat gas trading - a lost cause?

QG is too illiquid I think. If want to play i the energy market, play the QM. I watched QG for a while and the moves were to sporadic for my taste. Stay away and play the QM.

QCM? You might want to double check that.

    Stay out of markets

there is at least one good trending move in some market, be it up or down- I dont care. Be it the mini's, oil, or euro. I agree with taking some time off, but a couple months seems a little drastic.

    Tradestation Unreliable/Delay Data

You can count me in. I love trading the QM, and its terrible now:mad: Thanks alot TS. The reason i switched from Esignal to TS is that Esignal was constantly lagging. That worked out great ( insert sarcasm!)

Why Doesn't QCharts Have Globex Energy Contracts?

If you want "Some-what" real time data, u can try Tradestation. Im convinced there is not one quality charting company, so good luck.

    Tradestation Unreliable/Delay Data

QM data is still delayed. Like trading isnt hard enough with live data, Im glad that TS can make it a litte harder.

Still in College - Any Advice

I disagree with this 100%. :) I find that the QM at times can be EASIER then the index futures. Might be my trading style, trend following, but when the indexes are just chopping away, you can get some nice moves in the QM. Same goes with the Euro-FX. Don't be afraid to play markets just...

    S/R Emini Journal

Tom, I would personally start with the YM or NQ, since the tick values are smaller. However, with the YM I've noticed that the volume continues to drop off. So if I had to chose as of right now I would go to the NQ. Not only is it a liquid market, the volume is healthy. After, you prove...

If i was an institutional trader I'd be on the golf course:p . Seriously, just look at the daily chart of oil and you see an uptrend, no need to try and go against that.

    Frosty's e-mini journal

Don't try and tailor your system based on the current day. If you know you an edge, it will be on some days and not on others. If people tell you that they only have days that there edge works, run the other way because there probably trying to sell you some thing.:p If try and chase every...

From that I can only assume your a counter-trend trader. Good luck, I used to have that mentality, but switch to trend following and my trading greatly improved.

Its nice to end up for the day, but with your average loss of 5pts compared to your average win of 3.81, unless you can go 11 for 2 everyday, I would try and get that risk-reward ratio down. Speaking from experience, it feels good to win 2,3,4 in a row, but you feel twice as worse when 1 loss...
