Is the way central banks view inflation simply wrong?

Hum.... Japan called their monetary action "Quantitative Easing". The Fed called their monetary action "QE".... eeecckk.... the Fed is DEFINITELY trying to hide their doing from us.

Anybody have a career related to markets, but no necessarily trading?

Study the material. Don't flunk the ethics part (they weigh it very heavily).

Completely understand why HFT must exist

Why must you and your few friends exist rather than HFT? HFT merely found a way to more efficiently harvest a niche source of alpha. One would think on elite 'trader', one doesn't need to be subject to this sort of nonsense about 'distributive justice'.

Is the way central banks view inflation simply wrong?

I am someone. I don't know about your 'qualifications'. Why don't you enlighten me? Again, I claim to be no expert. In fact, feel free assume I have little or no education. But that doesn't explain why, again, below, you make claim to your qualification and work. I only ask that you tell...

Is the way central banks view inflation simply wrong?

Incorrect. I claim to be nothing. You can assume that I haven't finished elementary school, if you like. I'm not the one who's talking about himself as if he were an important innovator of modern economics. I offer no such grandiose theory. I do not claim that there's such a thing as a...

Tell us what your formal credentials are (because you purport to be an expert). No? Okay.

Is the way central banks view inflation simply wrong?

You keep saying this, but it appears that you don't actually grasp the elementary concepts in these topics, but instead make grandiose pronouncements. My views on this is based on reading your blog. It reads like the ranting of a student who barely passed Macro 101. Look, I know I will never...

    usd depreciating

Wow... way to present an argument to the contrary there. Let me ask you, in good faith: do you think the total global output (the global economy) stays the same each year, or increase/decrease over time?

Is the way central banks view inflation simply wrong?

what bus? I didn't miss the bus in that the thrust of your rant here (http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=250085&perpage=6&pagenumber=4) is that you in fact have little formal education in this stuff. Gotta feel sorry for the well meaning guys on ET being led astray by...

Is the way central banks view inflation simply wrong?

Psss.... ask him about his formal education. He blew up at me when I questioned his level of training in this stuff once.

    usd depreciating

Yes, I did. And I pointed out that a globalized economy (hence, a global economy) grows or shrinks, thus, not zero-sum. I think we've confirmed that you do not, in fact, know what zero-sum is. (and perhaps you don't know what 'globalized economy' is either).

    usd depreciating

This is pure ignorance. Global output grows (or shrinks) every year; It's demonstrably not a zero-sum game. Do you even know what zero-sum mean, or just throwing around words you saw on huffpost?

High-Speed Trading No Longer Hurtling Forward

Do you realize "help you figuring out who you are trying to match your level" is not actually a sentence? I can't for the life of me figure out what you are trying to say: are you trying to match my level (whatever that means) or help me figure out who I am (why would you do that)?

High-Speed Trading No Longer Hurtling Forward

Of course, the fact that HFT isn't a very leverage intensive subset of strategies will not change your mind (I know I know, we've gone through this before). It's funny how "Sarcastic is fine." doesn't actually address anything: that you failed to notice his sarcasm and went on the attack; or...

oh right, this is a hershey thread. I'm becoming progressively more difficult to find reality on ET.

Dude, he's being sarcastic... This is the part where I really wonder about you.... (aren't you the one who believes central banks are behind HFT?)

This is the kind of reply from you that makes me wonder if you are playing with a full deck of cards... Are you ignoring his point on purpose, or do you seriously not understand what he meant?
