    TradeStation ,Cox, IB connectivity problem

I'm on DSL too. My address only changes if I disconnect (or if my session is terminated - which has happened very occasionally). I am allocated a different IP address when I reconnect.

    TradeStation ,Cox, IB connectivity problem

Jaba122: It is very unusual for an ISP to kick off users to change dynamic addresses. A dynamic address is normally active during the life of a session, usually until you decide to terminate it. Static IP addresses will be active until your account is active with the ISP. At least that...

    Pre-Market Trading....

I am a relative newcomer to the daytrading scene and would like to ask a few basic questions... If you make a trade before the market opens dont you get filled at the open price unless you use limit orders ? I ask with primary reference to opening gaps in the markets especially when you...

    TradeStation ,Cox, IB connectivity problem

BTW I have not used PCQuote and dont know what you mean when you say that PCQuote stays green, but if it means what I think - that the link is OK - it may not mean it is. The PCQuote SW timeout just may not be hit for it to think the link is dead and to turn 'bad' colour.

    TradeStation ,Cox, IB connectivity problem

Mishka, If IB and PCQuote both get disconnected then that implies that there may not neccessarily be a problem with those vendors. There is either a problem with: a) Your equipment (networkingor ISP or PC) b) Your service provider c) A host in the network route between you and...

    I made a mistake today <gulp>

I am not going to condone darkhorse's comments however being a relative newcomer myself, the most irritating thing about elitetrader are the negative comments that are put on the boards. Saying that I will say that the majority of people on these boards are really great and are very helpful...

Eldredge: Unfortunately there is not much you can do. You can be sure that some *ss (*=a) somewhere has sold your email address on! I have been getting spam on my email address. It used to be the case that porn spammers used to use some hotmail or yahoo etc address. Now they have...
