Same sig for me at about 14:20, but that one was just barely filtered out in my own plan. Nice to see the increased RTH range. Now if just carries over to tomorrow... I'm ready :strong:

Mark Douglas "Trading in the Zone" Audiobook + Trading Psychology Seminar

Agree with this. I listened to a bit of Douglas early on. The only thing that stuck with me was his discussion of the profit gap, or the difference between actual results and trade plan results. Focusing on the profit gap led to some dramatic changes in my behavior. I think if a trader has a...

    ES Journal - 2019/2020

To me, hard to be bearish when the Fed is buying Treasury debt ($60B/month) into 2020 Q2, plus any signs of a recession will likely be met with further rate cuts/asset purchases. But also, hard to be bullish when total market cap to GDP hovers around 145%, with GDP projected to slow in 2020...

Who is trading SPY regularly? Questions ...

Volatility in the S&P has been in decline for the last 3 weeks. RTH ranges are shrinking and VIX is collapsing. Could be mere coincidence for to your strategy. Perhaps review how your strategy has performed historically in different market conditions (low v high volatility, low v high daily...

Intraday range definitely dropped off since the Oct 11 unscheduled fed announcement. Nice range just prior to that (late September - early October).

Trading, Taking and Income, and Capital Requirements

I follow what you're saying. But Asset Mgmt Firms with 9-10 figures under mgmt, and small retail accounts with low six figures, are two entirely different ball games. No reason to even compare performance stats between those two groups.

A Non-Correlated Strategy Trading Journal That Shows Profit

Agreed with points 1 & 2. I was focused on OP presenting as "truth" that a trader "will never, ever be able to pull in a living-income from a small $25,000 trading account". My initial thought was, it depends on the individual's living expenses, and then whether their average level of...

A Non-Correlated Strategy Trading Journal That Shows Profit

If you're presenting as "truth" that a specific $ amount is impossible, then at what level does it become possible? IOW the minimum amount needed to produce a living-income? Obviously the answer will depend on the individual's living expenses, so let's assume the income trader has no...

Federal Reserve in stealth intervention mode...

And another piece put out by the author, noting the severe drop in volume. https://northmantrader.com/2019/10/26/zombieland/ From the article: "Markets have turned into Zombieland, hardly any humans around, but the living dead walking around. Volumes have completely collapsed. While shrinking...

Federal Reserve in stealth intervention mode...

I was going to start this exact thread last night. Along with a stat line shared on the author's twitter: Trillion dollar deficits. 110% debt to GDP. $120B daily repos. $60B per month Fed balance sheet expansion. Rate cuts galore. Sub 2% GDP growth. "The economy is in a good place" -...

    I'm worried

Depends on the liquidity of the trading instrument and the leverage used (margin level per contract). If I was leveraged to the hilt and trading illiquid instruments overnight (or even in RTH), I would expect an account-ending event to occur at some point in time. But I'm trading a liquid...

Most Useful S/R Lines for Intraday Trading Levels??

I intraday trade during RTH. Each day, the "left edge" of my screen begins with the prior ETH. I will take note of any S/R levels established during ETH, but whether I give them consideration (draw a line) depends on the range and structure. I don't plot lines for S/R levels established in prior...

Profitable strategy - how to get up to scale?

Using 35K to leverage a 3-lot ($11,666 margin per), across 8-10 instruments, 15 times per day, within a 12-14 hour time period, to Net $130/day. ($2600/month) Assuming a person was just trading ES, trading 3 contracts ($37.50 per tick), $130 is the equivalent of netting 3.5 ticks/day. To me...

    Manual strategy testing

There’s approximately 250 sessions per year. To me, 1 year seemed like a good minimum starting point. No experience with automation, so no comment there. Lucky for me, I’ve enjoyed manual trading since day 1.

    Manual strategy testing

I trade manually. Though my entries are based off rules that are clear to me. For all of my trading "ideas", I manually recorded every occurrence of the "signal" in multiple timeframes over the prior 250 trading sessions. If the idea was not looking profitable in that period, it was dropped. If...

Lost 7 trades in a row this week, how often will this happen again?

Out of the past 2000 trades, there were ten occasions where I lost 7-10 in a row. The majority of losing streaks were 3-4. My risk is an average of 1.3% per trade. Frustrating losing streaks, euphoric winning streaks, and a whole lot of neither. That's trading (for me).
