How do I get rid of all these anti-virus pop-ups?

Thanks Osorico. Manual scan always shows up clean, and Emergency Lock ... I can't even find that ... lol. This only pops up when I'm online (I only do "clean" surfing, by the way  ), and by it saying it "blocked a network" virus, I was hoping it's just a re-occurring external threat...

Thanks. I have tried that route with no success.

How do I get rid of all these anti-virus pop-ups?

Forgive me for the intrusion, but on the subject, does anyone know whether this is an actual virus or just an alert to a virus-block as it states? I keep getting this pop-up but that is all that ever happens (I follow what it says to do, but that is always a dead end). By the way I'm on...

    Rule of 10 Journal

Thanks OT. To clarify, I do use 24-hr exlclusively. I just used the "RTH" reference to simplify identification of the low in question. That 82.75 low would be the one I normally use for r10 plays; I only brought up the higher low of 86.50 to see if anyone was even considering raising their...

    Rule of 10 Journal

Thanks. Yesterday I posted about just this situation ... where I was looking at the RTH low as the reaction from which to measure the entry signal. After a subsequent higher reaction low, the consensus seemed to shift to low #2 as being key ... so that's the only reason I was asking. In...

Not to mention 80.00 was also R1 (S1 to R1 day ...), a 2-day channel top, and the 200EMA on the hourly. :)

    Rule of 10 Journal

I'm surprised more charts haven't been posted here, for such a technical/visual strategy. What I'd really love to see is volente post a 2-day chart from a day similar to today, with chronological notation of valid reaction points and re-sets.:) The big question that still remains with me...

    Rule of 10 Journal

Ok thanks. I guess that is protection when it only goes past the normal 3pt stop by an extra pt, then comes back and hits your target. However, the ones that stop out decisively (5 pts or more) ... you will still be out double size compared to your single entry trades - i.e. when you take less...

    Rule of 10 Journal

Thanks. I know that's volente's method, but I wonder how one gets around the problem of being double-sized more often on the trades that stop out.

Would that be 75.50 limit, 75.25 limit, or 74.50/76.50 limits?

    How should I invest $10k?

Whatever you do, don't put it all to work in the market at once. For long-term investing, dollar cost averaging is the way to go. Since you have the opportunity to wait just about as long as anyone investing today, I would start to look at some ETFs of the most beaten down sectors, and just...

IB/java - now uses tons of memory?

A funny thing happened to me today after I posted this. So I'm nibbling at the market all morning - small scalps in and out, just to see if the selloff is for real. Then I finally commit to the short side with some size (for me) ... and when I start placing my exit orders at my targets, I...

    Why don't traders share strategies?

My question would be: why DO traders ever share strategies at all? Don't kid yourself, we are all each others' competition. Do armies share their strategies with their enemies? ... not successful ones.

IB/java - now uses tons of memory?

I'm using 885.7 with Java 1.5.0_06, two instances of TWS, and 10 charts open. Using Quotetracker as well. I notice a little slowness but it's not horrible. At least it's stable ... for now. Try an older Java and the previous TWS. There's absolutely zero reason to ever upgrade once you have a...
