    Going fulltime trading soon

Assuming you've traded successfully in a simulated account for at least 6 months (and IMHO that is a MUST, or 1 year even better), consider weaning yourself off the simulator gradually. Try maybe 1 real trade per day, or 1 day per week to start. Then see if your sim trading is still holding up...

    Relative Position of Moving Averages

http://stockcharts.org/help/doku.php?id=chart_school:technical_indicators:moving_averages (Scroll down to "Uses ...") Generally you put the odds in your favor when your MA's are all lined up correctly, as long as you're not too late to the trend. Hope this helps.

Amazing Quote from the Wife of Wall Street Exec

His $800k/yr income (and the lifestyle it afforded them) put them in the top 0.5 - 0.1% of U.S. incomes. Even at $150k/yr, they're still in the top 5%. Head-of-household duties might be considered more of a pass-fail thing, since it's something that we assume the average able-bodied person...

Call to Arms - We Must Fight the 0.25% Stock Transaction Tax

A friend just pointed out to me that the TT rate for futures, options, and other derivatives would be different than the one for stocks. http://www.scribd.com/doc/8974296/The-Benefits-of-a-Financial-Transactions-Tax .02% for futures ... $50 X 840(ES) X .0002 = 8.40 per side Not...

Call to Arms - We Must Fight the 0.25% Stock Transaction Tax

Makes sense. Cap gains would plummet too, possibly offsetting any increase in tax revenue.

Call to Arms - We Must Fight the 0.25% Stock Transaction Tax

What justification for no tax are you guys giving in your submissions? Unless it significantly hurts pensions and 401k's I don't see us 'greedy speculators' having a leg to stand on, in most people's minds.

Call to Arms - We Must Fight the 0.25% Stock Transaction Tax

Hmmm, thanks. Not that I necessarily doubt you, but do you have a link? Not sure where your 25% (as opposed to 0.25% of 'x', whatever 'x' is) comes from.

Call to Arms - We Must Fight the 0.25% Stock Transaction Tax

Stupid question ... what would the actual dollar amount of the tax be per 1 ES contract? (0.25% X what $ value?) Thanks. Edit: By my calculations, $50 X 860.00 = $43,000 .... X .0025 = $107.50 <<< tax per SIDE Can this be right??

    Comcast ,,|,,(-_-),,|,,

ATT DSL has been working for me for over 5 years ... never had a problem. I highly recommend it. I do have Comcast for TV, and I had a recent experience trying to get a second cable box which was complicated by them not knowing their own equipment (gave me the wrong box). If there were an...

blew my account can I ever recover?

I agree 100% with the scared money theory... you absolutely cannot and should not try to trade under any extra pressure. If you're completely committed to the idea of trying again, I would do the following: - get a part-time/night/weekend job to take the pressure off - review your past...

IB- how to set stop-loss with one order transmition?

Once you have your options configured correctly, you set up your order, then before transmitting, right click on the order line and select "Attach > Bracket Orders". You set your stop and target orders then, which only trigger once your original order triggers. I hope this helps.

Thanks guys for all your suggestions. Well, defragging seems to have done the trick. I just started my after hours chart-saving routine for today, and so far so good.
