Anybody frequently trade SSO or DXO long/short thru IB?

I've looked at a couple of strategies that involve scaling in on both the long and short side with these, but for shorts I've noticed they can be hard to borrow at IB. This is very frustrating and basically means I can't trade these strategies, as I'd be screwed if I was short my first lot and...

    Not Possible....profit On The Screen

How long did you try trading from the screen? I would imagine since it's nothing like the floor, the learning curve would be similar to that of any other newbie trying to learn to trade from home. People say that's anywhere from 2-5 years or longer to break even or become slightly profitable...

    ES Journal Archive (2009 - 2010)

Thanks for the charts. I was speaking about the day prior to NFP, but I was wrong anyway. In my current brain-dead state I mistakenly checked pre- expiration days. My apologies to Spectre and everyone else. As you were ...

Last 2 pre-NFP Thursdays sold off pretty nicely after 3pm, if I'm not mistaken.

Thanks. I knew there was a reason I never look at that.

Very interesting RTH pattern ... looks to me like strong opening thrust followed by extended consolidation/bull flag, followed by mirror image bear flag (?), which makes little sense.

True ... and may not even get there before they run the stops above 950. Still, I maintain re the chart I posted earlier that this move off the 50ema on the hourly is quite overextended.

NDX and SPX cash are through their 200dma's ... I doubt we see a major reversal before the Dow hits its 200 @ around 8750-60. I could always be wrong of course.

"Sell in June and hope it's not too soon"... something like that?

You're right, it doesn't. Nice trading today by the way (that last bit of misfortune notwithstanding).

Makes sense. But in that case perhaps the obvious will play out after all.

Today would be the last opportunity to "sell in May". That would seem to be the 'obvious' move. Therefore we could very easily close higher.

I find a wrong with TWS Chart and Help me!

The funny thing is Quotetracker charts, using IB data, seem to track the tick-by-tick movement quite nicely. I don't know why it's so hard for IB to provide good fast charts, but there are things I like about them that I've grown accustomed to. I only use the charts for drawing lines, and...
