Is it time to throw in the towel?

because information in a vacuum doesn't do anything for you. You always need context

Is it time to throw in the towel?

Depends...I always scale, because my positions are usually too big to click them out at one price.

Is it time to throw in the towel?

It's ok, man. You're just beginning and you were brave enough to post here and take some heat from a couple of frustrated screen monkeys ;) His strategy has no advantage over other market participants. Think about that. If you win, somebody else must lose and the first in line when it comes to...

Is it time to throw in the towel?

Dude...are you for real??? Meir Barak is a scam^2 Please stop doing what he's advocating right now and save yourself some more losses. This dork is marketing a bucketshop in Cyprus. He's around forever and he was always into fishy business. His first scam was a demo account that he offered for...

Is it time to throw in the towel?

@TheDailyTrader Ok look, I don't want to be mean and I also don't want to kick other guys balls here, but here are the facts: 1. You are talking about your "mentor": Do you actually know that this guy is making money? Have you seen his results? If so, does his methodology make sense to...

Hedging ratios for vega neutrality/vomma trading

You're probably right. I always forget that retailers pay way too much commission for that kind of trading.

Hedging ratios for vega neutrality/vomma trading

There is no edge in higher order greeks. Higher order greeks help you to manage a position that conserves the edge you gained from selling high/buying low. Let's say you sold a call 10cts over fair value, how are you going to realize your profit? Well you can say "I wait till another guy wants...

Hedging ratios for vega neutrality/vomma trading

Thing is, while I qualify as a retail, my book and my setup probably isn't. Meaning I'm not trading via IB or ToS. I don't care about Joe Public because he loses anyways. I care about 2nd and 3rd order greeks because it's easier to understand the behaviour of my book when it cointains 20+...

Hedging ratios for vega neutrality/vomma trading

Guys, many thanks for the condolences :D, I really appreciate that. There are a couple of things I'd like to add though: First, I find that information on options that's out there for retail is really incomplete and some things are just plain wrong or suboptimal. I never understood why...

Hedging ratios for vega neutrality/vomma trading

Not quite the answer I was hoping for but perhaps it's time for a good old hand written journal again and trade a couple of small positions.

    Reverse trend correlation?

erm...you mean not correlated?? Like in: correlation is zero? When Y goes up, whatever X does is random?

Hedging ratios for vega neutrality/vomma trading

So I've recently started to look into options trading since I'm getting old ->less intraday scalping -> more longterm positions -> more sources of edge needed. At the moment I'm studying a couple of positions I want to trade in different market scenarios to express my views on vol and forward...

    Small options arbitrage on AMZN

Dude, why??? Why would you post this on ET? I mean, the entire internet is reading this and probably also some peons who work for Options MM's. How long do you think an edge like this will exist? The fact that you can arb stale quotes with TWS means that someone at Optiver et al gets fired...

Wow... one month later?? This is like you tell us that you bought the ES in 2008 and 2015 you're boasting about your position being green... In the meantime I bought and sold 3 times already.

What is the best DOM out there and why?

For markets like the CME that report actual position in queue it's imperative that this information is provided. For other markets that don't, an estimation is fine. PIQ is crucial for short term trading thick markets like the ZN, GE or BOBL. Not so much for volatile stuff like ES and CL

Undeserving money managers eat up 25% of returns of retail investors

Wow...why?..how? I mean...what took you so long? 90% of market participants lose. Did you really think the money managers were the other 10%?
