    (SPI) Share Price Index futures

Zentrader is right. It can be a difficult market to trade at times. If you scalp it can be OK but it doesn't trend as well as the US or European market. It opens 10 minutes before the cash market, and tends to be incredibly volatile for the first 10 minutes. Using a 30 minute breakout...

    Is intelligence important for trading?

This is a good discussion topic. You don't have to be smart to be successful at anything. I often read in the paper about pretty dumb people who come up with very clever scams that make them money. I don't think they are smart, just cunning. Their situation necessitates cunning. Like...

    Trading three time zones

Contracts to trade would be as follows: The Australian SPI200 index contract is pretty good for smaller traders. Its completely electronic. Margin is about $1250 US per contract and the spread one point most of the trading day. Contract value of about $12 US a point. It can be traded...

    Trading three time zones

I've been thinking about something lately that I believe holds promise for dramatically increasing trading returns. Profit potential is highly correlated to market volatility. Markets are the most volatile when they are open, and least volatile when they are closed. If you have a fairly...

1000 QQQ SSF trading is better than NQ.

Assuming the spread is the equal to or less than the NQ. If it's more, trading the SSF may still not be as viable. Runningbear

"Give your system a KISS" by Mark Seleznov

wdbaker, Can you run a few backtests on the system using much shorter bars? Like 5, 10 and 15 minutes. Also you might want to try it with a filter through the lunchtime period. 11.30 - 1.30 Thanks, Runningbear

A similar trading system is to go long on a bar higher than the last two. Exit on a new bar low Re-enter long on a new bar high. Opposite for short trades. Better for shorter time frames like 5 - 10 minutes. Trade open and close only Runningbear

If you use this system in shorter time frames. Like 5 minute bars, trading the opening and close is the way to go. You need to trade it when directional movement is at its highest. 11.00 - 2.00 will chop you to pieces. Runningbear
