    Leaning more about grain futures?

I used to be a energy futures analyst in terms of speculation, now I'm coming from the other end (risk management and the actual delivery of the product). Are there any good websites that detail grain futures in North America (preferably Canada, but I'll take anything at this point). Any...

Where is the recession? Show me ?

And what about once you factor in other things like property taxes, any interest payments, and maintenance expenses assoicated iwth the asset? Then your net gain is more like 350 i'd wager, which is ~9% gain a year. Not a bad gain by any stretch, but more than doable elsewheres.

    Schindler Trading

The old thread got closed, but did anybody notice that he launched a new fund and deleted all mention of the old one from his site? Too funny - if one fund blows up sweep it under the rug and start a new one :D

    Bernanke is speaking

"One of the suggestions Bernanke made was for mortgage and other financial companies to reduce the amount of the loan to provide relief to a struggling owner. "Principal reductions that restore some equity for the homeowner may be a relatively more effective means of avoiding delinquency and...

    Ethanol subsidy...

While somewhat true, there's a problem here - right now the tech. behind ethanol production is in the very very very early infancy stages (for the most part). Raw inputs are not able to be utilized to the best of their abilities. Once enough time passes things will improve and it...

is Sharpe ratio the best way to measure performance?

What is considered a "good" Sortio number? For example, I ran it for my fund since 1999 to the end of 2007, got 8.9 (using a 5% risk free ROR). Using it with the S&P, I got - .56.......

    Surprise rate CUT tomorrow ?

I have to agreee/disagree with this. Yes, this will not solve the problem in any way, shape, or form, but it will let them keep their jobs. How did the genearl public react yesterday to the rate cut - 'YESSS!!!!! CHEAPER MORTGAGE AND CC RATES!!!!!'. It doesn't matter matter that their...

3% fed funds by May 08: Fed fund futures

Maybe short-term, but long-term it will plunge 500+ from where we are at - rate cuts are the last thing this market needs to correct itself.

What to do with an 800 rebate?

Here's the problem w/ that though - those who get their money will, essentially, try to leverage it up through more debt. Cheap money and crazy debt is what's causing this problem - all this money will do is make even more debt Yea, a rate cut is really going to help, lol. It will just make...

Elderly Americans Soon Eating Cat food due to high energy/food prices

Why should we help them out? If they're elderly then that means they had a chance to live their life and make a shit load of money. They didn't. Therefore, they failed, so now they should suffer. I don't give a crap about poor old people, especially wen they're using my darned oxygen!
