    IB new forex spreads

they already had the P/L shown in the accounts right? can't they just script in a seperate window/box to show that figure taken from the accounts? but TGM is correct...if it was this easy they would probably have done it already, hehe.

IB - How many liquidity providers do they have now?

Go IB go!!! Oanda still have the upper hand due to variable lot size start from 1 unit (IB too have it but it starts from 25,000 units) and IB's comm structure which is very punishing for small lot sizes.

    IB IdealPro Commissions

They did a GREAT job reducing the comms from $5 per side minimum to $2.5 per side minimum recently due to requests on this forum. Though i'll rather they drop the comms structure and build their comms into the spread like Oanda/GFT/Refco. 1.5 pip spread is far better than $5 RT IMHO.

Feasible for pro firms like IB to have "flexi lots"?

I think min. account size is $2k. (check out www.interactivebrokers.com) If you do 250,000 units per lot you might get a better deal on commissions than FX Futures. Otherwise, the comms is much higher than futures for standard 100k lots. If you're doing less than 100k lots, you're better off...

If IB had 1-unit size trading increments Would you Switch to Them as your New Forex

Definitely. Who would choose spotFX dealers like GFT and Oanda over a Pro Firm like IB? -IB has a FREE API, which means unlimited 3rd party software support. You can program anything u dream of and plug it in. -IB gives access to Futures, Stocks, Options, FX all under on account. -IB...

Agreed 100000000000%. Its not that hard to script up that function. It'll probably take only 1-2 days of programming.

Feasible for pro firms like IB to have "flexi lots"?

Steve_IB Yes the "commission free" ads are funny because the comms is already built into the spread. Especially back then when the spread was 3 pips wide. (compared to CME's 1 pip...i'll happily pay comms) Though now the 1.5-2 pips spread is "okay" for traders with a low budget. It still...

Poll: How much $ do you on Trading tools and resources monthly?

    1) They can always find out how. Or choose to pay $20+/mth for laziness. Their choice. 2) I'm a system trader. ^_^ Thanks to IB's free API, you can basically write your own software to automate with. I still enter trades the old fashion way though. T_T

Feasible for pro firms like IB to have "flexi lots"?

Never seen this happen with GFT and Oanda. Maybe because they take the other sides of all trades. Don't your liquidity provider just take the other side of everything? Thanks for taking the time to explain this rather dumb query. I'm just curious why Oanda/GFT are able to do $1 lots. :D

Poll: How much $ do you on Trading tools and resources monthly?

We don't need more than 1 day's backfill because at the end of everyday we can export the day's data out in CSV format. Do it everyday and it'll be the equivalent of backfill everyday. XD

Feasible for pro firms like IB to have "flexi lots"?

It started with Oanda. "Trade any size you want!" they say. It was true. You can trade 1 unit if you want. (1/100,000th of a standard lot) Then along comes GFT. Flexi lots of 1 to 20,000,000 units. The question is: Why don't pro firms like IB also introduce flexi lots and swallow then entire...

There are no guaranteed Stops. EVER.

This IS a sure fire way. Brokers can't do it because they know there aren't guaranteed stops. Feel free to check MoneyTec for posts dating (i think) 2004 september during that NFP. A lot of people have been doing this stunt for some time. Last yr sept's NFP was a super big hit because its a...

hi ElectricSavant, good to see that u're doing well. i'm curious about something. in both your systems, u hold position past news announcements right? (NFP, GDP etc) wouldn't it get pretty wild during those times? like 100 pip gap during NFP etc. wouldn't that screw up your calculations...

    I like Oanda but...

So...ready for the "challenge"? My photoshop is fired up and ready to go any time! By the way what happened with the Oanda lawsuit thingy? Have they start sueing u for wasting their time yet? :D

One question for Swing Traders out there

To swing trade is to hold positions for 1-3 days or more. Any less than 1 day would be day trade. (well duh XD) Now, every few days there are news releases like NFP, GDP, Interest Rate adjustments etc etc which will cause markets to jump. (FX gap 100-200 pips, ES jump few pts?) Won't it be...

    I like Oanda but...

Thats easy. -Start 10 accounts trading randomly or martingale. -Post snapshots only from winning accounts. -At the end showcase the highest winning account. OR -Use photoshop to edit the numbers :p
