home prices nearly tripled from 1970 to 1980. Makes sense to me as a house is more of a "hard" asset and these tend to increase during high inflation.

most people are sheep when it comes to numbers. They blindly follow what the media reports, and actually understanding how inflation is reported is hard for most people to understand.
who knows, I see all sorts of estimates, from 30-300k. In reality its quite difficult to figure out and people just find a number that fits in with their point of view.
deflation ha, I'd be more worried about hyperinflation with the money supply, debt, and commodities going up the way they are. And this comes from kiyosaki, one of the biggest permabears out there.
buy and hold can work but you can't be the type to keep looking at the market everyday, you have to be disciplined and also diversify, its very foolish to just be the SP500 and think you're diversified.
yeah windows has really gone down the tubes. Every release since 95 has been getting worse, the only thing they seem to concentrate on is how it looks, but it keeps getting slower, less secure, and more buggy.
well making money with websites have gotten very big again, hence I hear web 2.0 bubble. This hasn't been reflected in stocks that much other than google, but if the stock market continues to do well, I won't be surprised if internet stocks start ramping up.
sure a lot of rich folks have people do the grunt work for them, but they still had to do a lot of hard work to get all those people and make sure they do the work right, something very few can do.
I don't understand why you guys make this a big deal. The market isn't even up that much compared to anything in the 90s and the steady trend is a good thing for most people.
AXR and GROW seem particularly interesting considering their low float size and high rankings. Usually smallcaps do quite well in january, I would like to see how these two do.
The market is up around 15% this year, a solid return but nothing special. Everyone calling these tops are probably more of a sign of frustration with their trading than anything else.
