Off-topic but doesn't surprise me -- just had a conversation with someone about how there is a spiritual vacuum in a lot of European countries. Not meant as a criticism of you or anyone else -- just an observation. But I'm with @Wide Tailz on the use of JC. :)

I expect today to be challenging but it doesn't change my view that October finishes in the green.

So this is a custom indicator I have -- definitely one of my "go to" ones. The Parabolic SAR signal to buy has not triggered yet, although momentum has improved. This is one I used to show @Overnight that 2020 wasn't the "Black Swan" that he maintains.

FWIW, here is the 2002 / 2022 chart going into last Thursday. I'm not expecting 100% (does anyone ever know 100%?) -- just that cycles, seasonal patterns, sentiment are all "favorable" in the current time period. I saw some technical improvements starting last week and have seen continued...

The parallel is a bear market, in mid-term election year in October, year ending in 2. The market rallied close to 20% from the October low. It then peaked and made the final low in March 2003, although the absolute low for some sectors was the October low. I'm not saying the bear market is over.

Market has been following the 2002 pattern very closely for past several months. This is 2002 pattern once the market bottomed. Just using this as a general road map to the extent the "face ripper" continues.

My read on the VIX is that it will be up on the day -- already up a bit. May keep a lid on the market today. Also, daily breadth wasn't as strong yesterday.

Well, no one can't say you're not disciplined.

Yeah -- the plan as of now is to be bullish into December until proven otherwise.

All depends on your time frame too because even in bear markets you can have multi-week, even multi-month rallies -- I want to still participate in those.

You may disagree but the probabilities favored this being a face ripper, particularly with cycles and seasonal tendencies coming together. Look I got bullish way too early -- just based on sentiment - and I admit I was wrong -- I anticipated. But this time everything started lining up --...

Not sure if everyone fully appreciated the wisdom that @vanzandt just dropped. Worth consolidating that info with my added comment at the end: "I still repeat this to myself daily... the hardest button to push ..... buy or sell.... is more often than not, the right button to push. One thing...
