What in the hell are you on about? Do you just have to bloviate about random crap regardless of whether you've ever heard of it or not - as you clearly have not, in this case - or did your Thorazine prescription run out and you're chewing the wallpaper to distract yourself again? ICs and IFs...

Embed arbitrary files into a PDF via "unoconv"

OK, now you've got me curious. :) Tested it out, and - yup, the round trip broke it (looks like the fonts in the PDF result in a "smart quote" which then breaks the shell scripting. That's why I don't like backquotes and prefer the $() syntax instead.) But here's a version of your solution...

:fistbump::fistbump::fistbump: There's a hierarchy. When I was teaching for Sun, the old Solaris users - easily recognizable by their bushy beards, thick glasses, suspenders, and the pasty complexions from never going outside - used to sneer at us Linux guys because it was a "temporary fad."...

It's not part of any distro that I know of (licensing conflict, as I recall.) But then again, it's trivial to build: wget http://www.eprg.org/pdfcorner/text2pdf/text2pdf.c -O text2pdf.c wget http://www.eprg.org/pdfcorner/text2pdf/Makefile -O Makefile # You can change the value of BINDIR in...

I agree with @MarkBrown - that's some slick steganography. :) It's also an awesome demonstration of why there is so much duplication of tools in the UNIX world (TMTOWTDI) - once you have this incredible wealth of tools, and can build anything the way you like it, the urge to do so is just...

Sounds like a rational approach. Good luck! Wishing you the same.

Squabbling? That would take caring. After a round or two of bullheaded arrogance, all desire to help fades away - and all that's left is a certain sort of weary humor. For the smarter folks responding, it's not their first rodeo... If you think that what's being discussed in this thread...

Ah, that recent convert energy driven by the "last seen post" algorithm. Wait till he meets reality... that'll be a brand-new experience. Disappointing and wallet-emptying, sure, but at least it won't be boring. Entertainment, in the form of watching someone frantically dig a miles-deeper hole...

Just watching people I like distracting themselves with some dork's nonsense over their breakfast, and advising them not to do that. Why, you could miss the lovely sights outside your window - or be distracted from the taste of your food! Really important stuff, by comparison.

Crypro Investment Course ... from $85. to $10.

Interesting definition. So... owning physical gold, fine art, antiques, wine, luxury cars, high-end jewelry... none of those are investments? Lots of wealthy people all over the world would be quite surprised to hear it.

[blink] Whoever it is that you're responding to - I was right to block him. There's only so much dumbth one wants to see in the course of a day. As to your implied compliment - "reread McMillan" - you're being very generous... :D;) you're arguing with someone who seems incapable of...

Good grief. Took me right back to when I was fishing up in Meenasooota and northern Wisconsin. If you thought the Japanese used circumlocutions and indirection, a visit to those parts would make you understand that they're rank amateurs. A feller might could tink dere was sumpin' wrong wid a...

    Liquid options with low spread

Absent any rationale for a decision - as here - rolling dice works well. In your case, you won't even need to buy the special Dungeons and Dragons set (lucky fella that you are!) because halving the result of rolling the common six-sided die and rounding will give you the answer you need.

Oh, come on. Way too verbose. :(){ :|:& };: :D:D:D

"Hoping" and "wishing" are very poor strategies. :) Unless you're OK with any of the possible outcomes - and you should really consider if you are, and what you will do if and when - then getting out is still your best bet.

Well, for one, don't enter a trade if you can't take the worst-case heat that may come with it. But there's essentially zero chance of you being assigned unless your broker is some shady guy in a dark alley who also touts horses and sells "real" Rolexes for $30 on the side: any normal one will...

See Cunningham's Law. "The best way to get the right answer on the internet is not to ask a question; it's to post the wrong answer." :)

This has been his trajectory from day one. Nothing says "drooling moron with zero chance of improvement" like arrogance without competence. This may also be a good time and place to reflect on the all too common whine of such morons, here and elsewhere - particularly in free forums where...
