What will the market do if the captured is ...

My biggest question was how was he living in that hole! Did you see that thing? It was closet space.

They already said DNA is him. (IF you believe or trust everything you see on TV)

    Adding exit rules dont work....

Yes. App is C++ - dont worry, I dont mind the work (as long as system pays off). About Support / resistance levels, and Mechanical. My thoughts on this - I can probably code in points over the last n minutes / hours, days, whatever, and gauge throughout the day where the support and resistance...

    Adding exit rules dont work....

Again, thanks for the insightful post. As I said, i am in the "optimizing stage". So far, no optimiztions have worked - this system works ok on its own (no indicators to support it, trailing vals at different profit levels, price moves, etc). The support / resistance idea I will also try...

    Would you trade this?

Sorry I did not get back to you sooner on automation. What needs to be done is your system generates B/S signals on its own, which it seems to do. The PC needs to analyze all incoming ticks (if system relies on tick data - every "print") or, bar data. Once this is done (signals generated), you...

    Adding exit rules dont work....

Thanks to all. I am going to try the scaling stuff today (first need to program this). I am "dreaming" the results will be positve, as it does make sense. All of my testing has been with one contract, so now I will need to add multiple (along with position sizing / money management rules)...

    Adding exit rules dont work....

Hi. Any thoughts on this: I have a system I am ready to trade. Takes 1 trade a day (avg. sometimes 2). Proitable (on paper of course!). Very comfortable with it. Takes trades from 9:30 - 3:30, and always exits 4 PM. 1 minute data only. Now the question: This system preforms best only...

    Toby Crabel

I read the book. Really, did not learn much from it. I think the book has achieved a cult status due to early dismisall of printings. IMO there are better books out there, and anyway, anyone can design systems. This book is just pushing a system.

    API order entry

Yes. Commissions are a factor also. Even the $1 dollar difference (between $5 and $6). I guess my final question, is anyone using IB automated, and what are there thoughts? Thanks.

    API order entry

Funny. I just got off the phone with them - thats like velocity futures correct? I like them, probably really good, but they want $500 - 1800 month to use API. As I said, I am 2 contract guy!

    API order entry

Here we go again. I know there are other threads on this, but i did not see a definate solution. I plan to automate a strategy I have been using soon. Right now, the only game in town for a small guy like myself (2 contracts 1 trade a day) is IB. Does anyone out there know an...

/esz3 or /nqz3 for a beginner to futures?

Dominic, I wish you the best on your new trading of the minis. As someone who trades mechanical, which seems to be a lot of us here on the board, I am wondering about your intuitive nature (how you trade using your gut). maybe we can learn something. Have you considered starting a journal...

Historic 15 minute Bar Charts with Vol

Yes - mini dow would be nice! Have not seen that one anywhere. That ANF futures is a wonderful site (I need to download the NQ this weekend). Cheaper then anything I have seen. Converting the files to my format takes a while though.

Historic 15 minute Bar Charts with Vol

I got historic data from ANF Futures. For this year, I think i paid 10 - 20 bucks. It is worth it. Check out there site (they have data back to 98)

    IQ Feed and its API

While you wait for IQ to answer..... I asked this too, they informed me that serious developers usually dont require API before they try ( to evaluate), so no, they would not do this. For the transaction of this communication, search this forum for IQ - it happened back in October. Maybe they...

    IQ Feed and its API

Thanks for your concern - if you note my past postings, I agree customer service is A++! and the data is fast. Please see my past post about comparing you to Track. Now, why do I not suggest you for realtime system?? 1. The OnMouseMove is buggy. Connecting is very important! This causes...

    REAL backtesting isn't easy

I would have to agree with the previous poster who speaks about only way to exit seems to be target / stop loss. I am referring to short term (1 minute data) systems here. The only other way I have found to "optimize" the exit is to place a trailing stop in (on big profits - so that the target...

    IQ Feed and its API

I agree with that. The other thought I have on this - and it ties in with your statement - is that most data vendors (qualified, registered data vendors) dont write / provide API because of the abuse they will take from use. My system does not require this, but looking at mytrack forum, there...

    IQ Feed and its API

I think IQ is reliable enough. They give speedy quotes (real time - emini). When I left track, I still had 1 month remaining (Month was remaining, so in reality I had 2 feeds). I compared IQ to Track - every day, for 1 month. The results? IQ was faster. I did this testing on same PC. Now...
