And that's if the trade is still open and just dips below $1100?

Did the account lock up during the day, or do they tell you you failed at the end of the day?

Also to add on to this, different companies have different rules for the daily loss limit. I know OneUp simply rejects your trades for that day if you take a loss greater than the daily loss limit. But I have seen another one (I can't remember which one) that did not use a trailing drawdown, but...

This is how it goes, at oneuptrader at least. the numbers may vary slightly based on the company. Some do not have this trailing drawdown, I think maybe most do, but they have some variation of this. Day 1: $50k balance, Drawdown $47500. Profit 1k, Drawdown goes up 1k. Day 2: $51k balance...

That's not how it works here either. The drawdown never goes over $50000. So you would only fail by dropping below $50000. You can make $25000 on a $50k account and your drawdown remains at $50000, making it pretty much impossible to ever blow your account if you know how to trade.

I think the mini-gauntlet is their only worthwhile product. I have no idea why anyone would do their normal one. Isn't futures trading always subject to the 60/40 tax? Even if they don't specify at one of these companies, wouldn't you still report your income as you normally would as a daytrader?

Journaling in a different way was a huge breakthrough for me. I had issues with occasional impulsive trades that were almost always poor decisions, essentially abandoning the plan to wait for a particular setup and try to take advantage of a move that was in-between the setups. Or just chasing a...

No doubt it is a great template for anyone on that journey. I did a version of that in the past, but found more steady progress with micros and funded programs this year, and despite all I know, some of the discipline still took longer than expected. I am sure it takes many people much longer...

All correct and good advice - with one small problem. When you have faith in yourself, and fund your own account, but your faith was too early, you may cost yourself thousands to learn a lesson you can learn for $100 or $200. That's the main advantage here. On paper, all your advice is right...

100% agreed. But until you are managing your own system perfectly, you need meaningful practice. Practicing MNQ will improve your setups but not your psychology and emotions. And meaningful practice on full contracts can be very expensive if you overestimate your abilities. One evaluation can...

Yep you and anyone can do that, but surely you know the psychology behind this is rarely that simple. If it works for you, it works. For others, other options may work better.

The $50k account allows up to 6 contracts, but I agree with you, even 6 is too many. Most people doing these programs are gambling and that's why they fail and blow up the accounts. They probably realize that quickly when they use 6. Also, with the daily loss limit of $1200, you should never be...

Yeah of course it's not the same. But I've traded e-minis for a long time, and never had the funds to actually try more than 2 contracts on my own. Micros are typically for longer term holds/testing new setups, while I daytrade e-mini on a separate account. My experience lets me comfortably...

You're not wrong, that's a great approach as well. I did that before but I still need to prepare myself for full contracts and larger size one day in the near future, and this is a good way to do so. Also about monthly fees, this is really the reason I am exploring the other funded programs, to...

As I said, I don't have $50k of my own to trade futures of any reasonable size. I do have my own account but I prefer not using it that often. I think this system is better for me. First $8000 100% profit? Why would you not pay something like $150 to eliminate all your risk and take 100% of your...

Another common argument that people make when I suggest higher performance standards, and I don't know why. Do you think people who can double a small account will then trade 100% account size constantly until they surpass Bezos? You probably know even someone with great trading skills will have...

Most risk comes from lack of understanding. Yes, you may lose internet one day or WW3 might start. Risk will be an issue during some of those days, hopefully a stop loss is used just in case. Otherwise, if you know how to trade and read the chart, you should never be in danger of reaching that...

Is this serious? Of course you make it in one month! Or you shouldn't be doing these evaluations at all lol! So yes I am only comparing the monthly cost to the one time cost because I assume it is only for 1 month. I have passed the evaluation many times in one month. Usually I can pass it in 3...

So FTMO has no monthly fees, and even refunds the initial cost to the trader upon passing. But one issue is it costs more than double for the same size account - so you obviously want to be sure you're not going to be screwing around on there because it would be 2+ evaluations at OneUpTrader in...

Sweet, I do have them on my list to check out. So far OneUp is the only one I have found with no fees. So I would say they are at least just as good as FTMO. I will edit this later with what I find on FTMO.
