Historic prices of Comex Gold and CBOT Gold?

Can someone tell me why the May 2006 high price of the continuous GC contract is $732 while the continuous ZG for the same dates is at $801.60? I know they don't trade tick for tick but those highs aren't even close. Am I missing something. Thanks.

Waiting for funds to settle on Scottrade

The OP didn't mention daytrading, which would require $25K He said he doesn't like to wait for funds to settle which is not a problem in a margin account as long as he stays within the PDT rules. BTW, you can use unsettled funds to make a purchase as long as you hold the new position until...

Waiting for funds to settle on Scottrade

Not trying to be insulting here but minimum maintainence for a margin account is only about $2000. At most it's $3000.

    ES vs SPY

    Currently, one ES contract moves about the same as 555 shares of SPY. ES ATR = 26.64 X $50 per contract = $1332 SPY ATR = 2.40 X $1 per share = $2.40 $1332 / $2.40 = 555 shares SPY

Gold Futures HIT TOP...time to short

Do you have any reason other than a "feeling" that it's too high in your opinion? I have my own opinion, as well as a short position in Gold. But I have a few reasons, all technical, for my position. That way it's easier to know when/if I am wrong. The last indicator to break down and...

    Timmmmmay's Latest

Who gives a crap about that loser? And why is it that EVERY time some one introduces Tim they HAVE to say that he turned his "Bar Mitzva money" into whatever million. What difference does it make if it's Bar Mitzva money? Does Jim Rogers or Warren Buffet say where they got the money to start...

    Technical outlook on Crude

Sorry, I don't see a H&S in oil. I'm not saying you are wrong, if YOU see it then YOU should trade it as you see it. I said before, the nice thing about T/A is that different traders see different things in the same charts. Perhaps I've been buying crude from you. The market will decide who is...

SEASON 2, thursday TV WALLSTREET WARRIORS

The SanDisk boys were telling clients that they were gonna pyramid positions on the way up. It will be interesting to see if we find out how high they were still adding to positions and if they started to liquidate when it rolled over. I hope they didn't tell their clients to average down as...

    Technical outlook on Crude

That's only a move of $1.68 QM's ATR is currently at $2.60, so a move of $1.68 is all in a routine day.

    Technical outlook on Crude

Funny how different eyes see different things in the same charts. That's the nice thing about T/A. I don't see a H&S in oil's chart. I do see a rangebound chart, $85-$100, that followed a nice run up. Could be a flag pattern. A nice example of a H&S pattern, complete with a nice MACD...

    YM versus ES fallacy

Not sure if this has been mentioned yet but there seems to be a lot of comparing ES tick size vs YM ticks size as if that is comparing risk. The tick size alone is irrelevant. If you want to compare the risk you need to compare (YM tick value X ATR) vs (ES tick value X ATR)
