Pre- and aftermarket charts - the life after Qcharts

I switched to eSignal when QQL closed, and they don't offer after/pre market charts either. In fact, they don't even offer good quotes on NYSE stocks when the market is closed. I would sure like to have good quotes and charts pre/post market too.

    IB Hotkeys

I just downloaded Build 772.6 (I hope it doesn't have any bugs), and the price hot keys are back to normal. The bid or ask price you enter is displayed to the third decimal, but the hot keys change in 1 cent and 4 cent increments just like before. Maybe there is a way to select 1 cent or .1...

    IB Hotkeys

I called IB, they are supposed to have a fix out today. Actually, it should be out by now according to what they said, but I haven't checked for an updated download yet.

    IB Hotkeys

I haven't installed the new version, but my price increase hotkeys aren't working correctly this morning. I just realized that the increments have changed to .1 and .4. This stinks!! I am using Build 765.4

    Cable VS DSL

I don't actually have them connected. I use two machines with all software loaded on both. I use one for quotes and charts, the other for trading platform. If I loose one connection, I fire up the software on the other machine. I loose a few seconds, but at least I can keep trading. Your...

which is best the direct access broker

Shadowtrader, I had to chime in here. I didn't carefully read the entire thread, so forgive me if I have missed something. I would recommend that you seek a broker with a per/share pricing structure. This will enable you to make very small trades at first without getting killed by...

    Cable VS DSL

I use both, and it comes in handy when one is having trouble. I have yet to have them both go down at once (knock on wood). As far as which is better, I think it totally depends on the local company. Changes in my provider have had more impact on the reliability of my service than whether it...

    IB customer service

I've got to say that I don't have any serious complaints with IB's customer service. I rarely have to call. There is an occasional technical problem, but I think that is part of electronic trading. I have occasionally gotten a rep who doesn't know anything, but I have always gotten someone...

what do you guys think of DELL?

I have been accumulating a short position. I'm currently short about 5,000 shares, so I hope you are right. I'm really not sure it will go that low, I will probably start covering a little at a time - hopefully tomorrow. It has held up quite well compared to QQQ, so it should have some to...

Me too. I thought maybe it was me - I guess not.

    IB Quote Problems

I have been having this problem all week - very frustrating. I notice that E-signal seems to be having some problems off and on too. Not as many or as long as TWS though.

    do you like interactive brokers?

Nitro, Do you get TMBR fills when you have selected NYSE as your route? I don't trade too much NYSE - a few trades a day in MER and MWD - but I have never had this happen. If I use BEST/SMART route, I sometimes get TMBR fills (very quickly), but If I designate NYSE, I have always been filled...

Import/Link IB quotes into Excel using DDE

Thereuare, I hope you don't mind me butting in again, but I would like to know how to do this. With Esignal I can enter the formula WINROS|BID!QQQ and get a quote for QQQ bid entered into that cell and updated constantly. WINROS|ASK!QQQ. and I get the ask, and so on. All I have to do is...

    PointDirex Announces New Commissions!!!

I assume you mean .5 cents per share (.005 dollars) :) . Does this include ECN fees etc. or do they have other fees in addition to the commission? Thanks

Import/Link IB quotes into Excel using DDE

Thereuare, I have had this same trouble. I finally just used QQL for my spreadsheet instead of TWS. Now I am using E-signal. I have no trouble using either of these, but I can't figure out TWS (without the sample worksheet) either. If you figure this out, will you please post your...

    Primex

In my experience with Nasdaq stocks, PRIMEX is bad news. It basically allows MMs to delay your order while they take a look at it. The problem is, if they decide they don't want it, they cut it loose and the market has moved away from you by then. IB included it in their BEST/SMART routing...

Flat Panel: Analog vs. Digital, Your Experiences

I can see a definite difference between analog and digital when viewing text and numbers (which is almost all I do). I am glad I got monitors that will accept both. In fairness though, my digital card is a better card than my analog card. I don't know how much of the difference may be due to...

How many stocks do you watch

I watch and trade the same ones every day with an occasional change. 9 Nasdaq, 2 NYSE, and QQQ. I may add a couple of more before too long, but I think that will probably max me out.

Question about Buying Things as a day trader?

Lately I have been taking out half of my profits each month. It seems like a good compromise between growing my account and removing some equity from market risk. I think I will keep doing this as long as I can get by on half of my profits. Come tax time, I may have to make a larger...

Getting back to 25K in account

When you are working with a small account, I believe you must use small size to keep from getting wiped out. Regardless of your style or technique, commissions and fees become critical in this scenario. I didn't see who you use for your broker, but I think using a broker with low per-share...
