quite afraid US may impose million-dollar tax

I read the news that France has imposed 75% tax on income over 1 million euro. given that in 1970, the US tax for rich was as high as 70%, and democrats could possibly occupy white house for a long time in the era of economic depression, such high tax is very possible. what do you think?

    Protecting your strategies

the real incentive is that you should provide a system that worth decoding. if you have a mechanical system that has 75% win ratio, and the average win at least not bigger than loss, I will take your challenge. It is idiot for anyone to spend months on a garbage system just to prove it is a...

    Protecting your strategies

people worry about reverse engineering because it is hard for them to detect such activity. i have said most of such activities occur not in the level of firms but individual employees. how could someone prove his strategy has been decoded? since I successfully decoded one strategy from a...

    Protecting your strategies

I agree it is very few strategies that is easy to decode and profitable. but for a broker like IB, who has 140,000 active traders, I believe the number is not small. As long as the strategy is based on individual chart only, it is not hard to decode.

    Protecting your strategies

    1) you confuse general traders with specific profitable traders. for example, you do not know if OP has a profitable strategy or not, and in my case, I have a profitable strategy and I have worries about reverse-engineering, and I decoded other's strategy before. 2) again, you confuse broker...

I know some one who is extremely successful in day trading only works on single chart. unfortunately I do not have many of his trades. possibly James Simons' system is abased on single chart too, since he diversifies among so many markets.

for example, in one forum, I often followed one guy who posted real time trading signals on stocks. I know he traded on candlestick chart. so every time he posted his signal, I checked the chart, most of time, he traded on 1-min chart. from a number of charts, it is obvious he trades on...

in your case, the number of parameters is not three, since there are too many other markets like USD/EUR. we are talking about a trading system based only on one candlestick chart.

    Protecting your strategies

I decoded a profitable trading system my self, though it is not trivial, and I could not say I have reverse engineered 100% identical to the original, since i do not have too many trades from the system, but I can design my own profitable trading based on the decoding.

    Protecting your strategies

I do not agree with this. for example, if I have a 1000 trades out of a mechanical system, at least I can see the common scenario when the 1000 trades take place.

Day trade AAPL maximum number of shares?

it depends on the length of your holding time and the stop loss. lifting one level at bid or ask does not influence your entry price, that is the minimal share you can trade one time.
