I was sarcastic. One can't compare one bailout to another. We were facing crisis back then. What crisis will we be facing if the nation does not pay off student loans? Besides one bail out creates a precedent and eventually will lead to a subsidized by taxpayers education.

If we don't bail out college students we will have a work force crisis. Once? Twice? Three, four times? For life?

Can the govt exempt the middle class from paying taxes? That's the question. If not, then whatever govt decides to do, nothing is going to be free for the middle class.

Freedom is not free. US prosperity is the envy of the world. The rich man always spends more on security than the poor.

Instead of forgiving student debt, the govt should run state universities free for anyone who has such desire to study there. This is a solution to put end to debate. If this requires to raise taxes then call a referendum.

Of course you would look at the "made in" if the product says "made in USA". Not many do.
