It appears to me that the key point here is the increased volume supporting the "shift" in the Intra Bar Gaussian Shift. We are looking at the position of the bar close.

As ticktrade said in your quote: "Bar 4 exceeds the high of bar 1, changing it from a lateral formation to lateral movement". It ended in a LM and that is the way it was labeled by Spyder. So it transitioned from a Sym Pennant to a Lateral Formation, then to a Lateral Movement at the point of...

It is at least an IF1, but likely an IBGS. I can't tell which without the scale. Could also be peak volume but I'm unclear on these since I haven't seen a clear definition. But regardless, change or not was not the question. edit: perhaps my question was unclear. The statement "Without an...

Spyder: I recently reviewed your post "Additional Signals for Change" from 10/1/07 where you described the LTL Bounce. Did you intend to exclude these events as a possibility for a point one as a literal read of the above might imply? TIA

Spyder, thank you - your charts are very helpful and I appreciate how much work goes into the annotation and posting for our benefit. Would you consider changing the color of the blue box to that of the chart background thereby eliminating the extra (particularly the vertical) lines which are...

As Spyder said, an OB can signal change multiple times. After signaling change to long intrabar, it showed the first signs of change (back to short) again before it closed because it sold off from it's high to the extent of ending as a lateral move. If these were intraday bars I would have...

<img src=http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/attachment.php?s=&postid=1975102> The first pink short traverse set the dominant trend direction and required a non-dominant move up to complete the anticipated red short channel. The blue RTL started as a tape after the pink FT3, and the move up became...

At the close of 9:45-:50 I wasn't sure what sequence was in play. We could have put in a pt2 short using the day's data. The 9:50-:55 bar was black and closed laterally mid bar on increasing volume. Intrabar, the first three minutes looked like the pt3 long had been put in, but then sentiment...

I think it originally was a +volume in non-dominant direction issue and that's why I gave the info I did: http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&postid=1929185#post1929185

There are three events that can cause TEMPORARILY increased volume in the non-dominant direction as price moves to pt3. cnms2 posted these just a few posts ago. This is your +P, +V way. Study the charts to understand why these happen when they do, or they will take you by surprise.

two quick things for now: I don't understand your application of "Peaking" volume here and there are two trends duking it out right there and this needs to be recognized.

here's my chart with the area circled. Shows decreasing volume after the BO bar. Also note Lateral movement preceding the Lateral Formation but its not annotated. What troubles me is the concept of not expecting the normal pt1-2-3 sequence after an FTT, Formation BO, RTL BO without "X" amount...

that is certainly the sweep you would make. We can only expect +B on the one bar(32) that BO the Lateral formation because we are traversing in the non-dominant direction (retracing the short trend channel). Until we put in a valid pt3 long I don't see how we can get signs of continuation in...

But how can this be with out WMCN (increasing volume) immediately after the Lateral Formation BO to confirm the change of trend? I was told in my example yesterday that the pt1-2-3 sequences could not be pursued in such an event. Who can explain the context difference here so that my dimly...

What ever happened with the outcome of the "Holy Grail Drill" from 5/9/08 regarding bars 15:10-:15, 15:40-:45, and 15:50-:55? "All three signal change. However, all three signal change for a very specific reason. This they also have in common. Figure out the reason behind the signal, and...
